My parents were busy trying to control my fucked up sisters children, with my dad dumping as much responsibilty for child rearing as possible on my mom, and my mom passively aggressively resenting it. Same way me and my sister were raised. My family's a mess.

Ilia, returning to study the carbon units. I thought that was the coolest thing when I was young.
Yeah I wasn't very clear. I guess Herbert West is the uncommon name, esp without mentioning the Reanimator.
Herbert West: Reanimator is one of Lovecraft's most famous tales. It's a serial he wrote for a magazine in 1920-21, a horror/comedy, one of the first sci/fi zombie tales. The science part, you have to remember it was written 100 years ago. There's been a few video adaptations, but really, the book is better because Lovecraft was a great writer.

The first Lovecraft story I read was The Tomb. I was enthralled. Eventually I came across Herbert West. I've read most short works from two collections I bought.
I started looking for an SDF alternative just yesterday, to see if SDF was broken again. So thanks for the post. Guess I will carry on with another account. I'm thinking lemmy.ca.
First the advertising platforms started getting called social, now swearing at each other is social. Shit is shit.
What isn't working? It's a little different than the phone app, but it works for me.
I use KDE Connect as a media remote and to transfer files between my phone and computers. It has quite a few other functions, like remote mouse control, sms, seems to share clipboards as well.
A touch of narcissistic psychopathy, lack of empathy.
I get that too, it can be difficult to get help. I try to ignore it and have been using Linux for about 15 years as an OS. I use Kubuntu on my laptop, but I've used Mint also. I'm thinking of changing back but it's so much work, and there are a lot of other options I'd like to try.
I've had my network locked out as well, the first iteration of ProtonVPN I used would lock it out if you didn't close the app before shutting down. I contacted Proton and they sent me the commands to unlock it, so I have them handy in a file. That problem was fixed, afaik, because I can shut down without exiting the app now. I haven't had my comp suspend, Linux used to have a problem with suspend so I've stayed away from it. I haven't had any problems with Proton otherwise, I used it on my Android as well, I have a paid plan.
