I started out with a Knoppix live-CD back in 2002. Remember that distro?

Thats what got me to start dual-booting and eventually nuke my Win XP install entirely.

It's been all penguins ever since.

Those shouldn't exist at all, and if they have to, the settings should be expressly asked about as part of the initial setup, not buried in a menu that nobody goes to unless they're specifically looking for the options.

Black Friday, the shopping day is a gimmick

And one that's been exported to other countries who don't even have the same national holiday adjacent to that friday giving people the excuse to shop more on that particular day.

Here it's nothing but a cynical corporate cash grab.

How about the insurance industry gets their assess up off their fat sacks of cash and go find that research - it not like anyone is hiding it from them.

That should be obvious to anyone who is even slightly paying attention.

Of course, PP (and the conservative premiers) is counting on his base to not be in that group.

I never understand why people don't want criminals reformed, just locked up.

Because "lock them up" is a simple answer that is quick, easy to understand and relativity easy to do.

Rehabilitation takes time, takes effort, and doesn't have a "one size fits all" method.

It's not a simple, easy to understand (and easy to slogan) approach, even if it does actually have proven better long-term outcomes for society.

15th Progressive Conservative legislature member announces she won't run again

The trend isn't confined to the Bow Valley or even to Alberta. The federal government has temporarily eased limits on how many temporary foreign workers a business can hire in low-wage positions, and employers across Canada have increasingly made use of the program.

So... who do you want to win the cup? Paul Maurice, after bailing out on us? Or Vegas, so we can say "at least we lost to the hardest team to beat"?
