I think it's possible with some logic basically if url and/or string meets some basic rules

!community@domain,

https://domain/c/community

ect convert to local instance community url. Update logic for local community urls to look for community if not available locally and display. So first time navigating to a community might take a little bit longer but seems very possible.

Edit: ugh some formatting issues

Quick lesson on how urls work. When I purchase a domain name you usually purchase something like domain.com, domain.net ect. So once you own domain.com you have control of creating what are called sub domains. sub.domain.com or sub.sub.domain.com. you can tell that lemmy.ml and fmhy.ml are unrelated because of this.

Me suddenly realizing best part of r/hockey and r/NHL was team flairs. Need to put that in the list of features to add.

Otherwise rooting for Panthers want to see Vegas be so close but so far away from the cup again.

I guess it depends on your risk tolerance?

How sensitive is your browsing history?

how many people have access to your account or root access?

How many people have access to the device under a different account?

Are you concerned about cyber attacks?

Are concerned about the device getting confiscated/stolen by another party?

If the answers to these questions are low risk then you basically have very little problems with keeping history on your device. Remember your isp/VPN will be able to see DNS calls and ip address connections which best case scenario will expose the websites you go to.

#lemmy:matrix.org matrix chat room would be a good place to ask or even maybe !lemmy_support@lemmy.ml

Thanks. There was some good discussion there and highlights why a public modlog is very important to evaluate the health of any Lemmy instance.

I mean really all EVs help us shift the responsibility of emissions from the consumer to governments and power companies. To reduce green house gases EVs and at the same time regulations against coal power plants and other green house gas emitting power plants. While incentivising nuclear, wind, solar, ect.
