Ok, got itπŸ‘

Hey there, me again. Would it be a good or bad idea to try to get Lemmy mentioned in some news article(s)? I don't have connections or anything, but wouldn't mind trying... could write a few emails. I don't know how much attention you want to draw to it, so just a thought.

But speaking generally, what's the end goal with all these bots? The way some people speak, the net's almost all bots as is. I don't believe it, otherwise I wouldn't bother signing on anymore... but if that's in fact where we're headed, what do people think they're accomplishing in the long run by flooding the Internet with these things? Won't it be just them and their little bots in the end?

Sorry, I don't understand a lot of what you're saying... sounds very techie to me, and I'm not the brightest that way.

Thanks. I'm finding the change surprisingly easy... it normally takes me much longer. I didn't start using Reddit even until a year after I first visited the site. But now, for the last couple of days, I've checked in only because of notifications I'm still getting. There's something about Lemmy I'm taking to really fast... has a more intimate feel or something... definitely much more pleasant!

You're more of an expert than I am! I don't get it... what do they think they're accomplishing by ridding themselves of human users?

Thanks. I don't use Twitter, so it's good to hear what's going on over there.

Excellent, thanks! Especially since I've continued sharing/posting itπŸ‘

Excellent. Just keep pissing people off, the more the better for our side.

Bah, could have just as easily been cause someone said something that hurt Trump/Musk's feelings.

Sounds like crazy-making with the way they've got you questioning the obvious... does the sun really rise in the east, will it really hurt if I jump off this bridge, can fish really survive under water πŸ€ͺ

Weird, I was thinking just the other day that Trump is starting to seem like someone who's been brainwashed. Like, I know Trump has always been Trump... greedy, power-hungry, a liar, etc. But they say people who are brainwashed were already predisposed to it... and Trump didn't look to be in his right mind during that press conference with Musk, sitting there like a passive, obedient, lovesick puppy.

I've been posting the link to lemmy.ca wherever I can, like over at YouTube for instance... and I wanted to make sure that's ok before finding out it's not for some reason.

So, is that ok?

In settings, I've checked 'open links in new tab', but it doesn't work. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

ETA Someone suggested I try a different interface, and turns out it works fine in alex.lemmy.ca, just not lemmy.ca. So problem is at least kind of solved! Thanks so much everyone for taking the time to help!
