As for the USA, let me put it this way: If Trump gets elected, with the tech tools the govt has, we will see, at the very best, another Hong Kong, with anyone that disfavors the Repubs disappearing, some permanently. At the worst, we will see another Nazi Germany. He himself proposed executing people.

If you practice privacy and can teach others, your skills will be valuable to the underground resistance.

Ya, I really love "kind-hearted, compassionate people" who support forcing raped teenage girls to have babies. Because that is what Trump stands for. In fact, it's pretty credible that he raped one himself at Epstein's compound. Those idiots have no clue what kind-hearted or compassionate means.

"...and at the quarter turn, odds fav Merry Bell is running a full length behind Morning Milk. Morning Milk won the Nickel Pasture Jaunt last week..."

Wall Street Journal (paywalled) The digital payments company plans to build an ad sales business around the reams of data it generates from tracking the purchases as well as the broader spending behaviors of millions of consumers who use its services, which include the more socially-enabled Venmo app.

PayPal has hired Mark Grether, who formerly led Uber’s advertising business, to lead the effort as senior vice president and general manager of its newly-created PayPal Ads division.

Not sure about Lemmy. The best resource is XDA-developers forums

I'm retired on fixed income, but if I use an app, I try to send the developer some money. I usually only send if they have a bitcoin route. (Which is why I stopped supporting Wikipedia)

Perfect! I'm using Eternity now. Thank you!

I'm not sure where to ask this so I started here: here: Is there a Lemmy client that has a filter. I want to hide posts from particular accounts. Like anyone for hexbear, for example. I know I can set up my own instance, but that's more work than I want right now. I was hoping someone knew a client that could do this.

Is that because Signal has trackers in it and F-Droid would remove them?

[–] badelf@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Why is it not actually in F-droid? They want me to install a private repo? Has it been audited or is this a shill?

I'm theoretically Mensa qualified but when I met some I turned away. My sense of what's fun and creative did not align. At all.

Excellent question. For me, it has a lot to do with their sense of humor, general outlook, and their problem solving. ymmv

CDC issued an alert after identification of locally acquired malaria cases (P. vivax) in two U.S. states (Florida [4] and Texas [1]) within the last 2 months. Locally acquired mosquito-borne malaria has not occurred in the United States since 2003 when eight cases of locally acquired P. vivax malaria were identified in Palm Beach County, FL (1).
