what do you think?? these pins were bought in conventions sometimes i go to with my friends and that's cool. (also i don't watch bluey but the characters are nicely drawn and i like that sure!!)

like not doing anything, just a spare laptop in case i ever need one, what if i use it years after i installed debian on it?? i would have to update like 300 packages and would take a lot??

yes, not a unix os but rather unix-like, and i want to program all of it on python, is that possible?? even the kernel, i want it all python. i know most kernels use c++ or c* but maybe python has a library to turn c* into python?? i'm still sort of a beginner but thanks and i would appreciate the answers

the long distance trips sure is true, my boyfriend really likes driving the car to other states and it takes a looong time, nice. thanks!!!

i met my boyfriend 7 months ago online and he's american and well i really love him, i'm from another country and while i do want to marry him someday i know i have to see him irl first for a few years, so, if i ever marry him (an american) in my country, what happens?? i know i do not get a green card instantly but, like, our marriage gets registered in my country, does it get registered in the u.s too?? i am just curious, thanks!!

i guess it would make sense because the main philosophy behind cinnamon is to bring back old gnome2 and despise new gnome. it's almost like they're trying to make it better (i believe both cinnamon and gnome are awesome!!) and eventually make cinnamon the default de someday, has there been any sort of rivalry between the devs of both desktop environments?? like, i know it's not possible but what if a gnome update wouldn't let you install cinnamon and vice versa??

well i meant those two specific desktop environments because those two seem to be extremely customizable, which means icons, windows, etc can be rearranged to be more friendly

this is a topic i've been heavily involved with because i still consider myself to be someone who prefers using technology at a very beginner friendly level, plus it's very good when a linux operating system makes you feel right at home when it has a modern desktop environment. this is why i really like gnome, its simplicity and usability is something available for everyone, for beginners and for a lot of other people, but if you had to, say, rearrange xfce or kde for someone who was an elderly person or an absolute beginner so that they wouldn't have any trouble using linux, how would you do it? (screenshot is my current linux mint desktop, very simple and extremely user friendly!!!!)

what should i know?? will it go faster than xubuntu? because it doesn't use any snap applications?, will it have a modern ui? because, no offense, xubuntu's ui looks very outdated and i know i can change it but i want something straight out of the box, i've seen screenshots of mint xfce and it sorta looks like GNOME!!! amazing woa!!yea linux mint let's go!! what will be the pros be for using linux mint xfce please?? over xubuntu

edit: i've been using linux for 4 years now woa.. a huge trip yep!!!! my distro of choice was xubuntu, smol one wow!!! but now that i know mint has no snap and therefore no slowing down the laptop, i may go with that hey yea! so i'm not a newbie, i know the commands i know how to update wohoo!! and do all that stuff, basic things, thanks you

let's go!! graphic designers using linux uniteeee, my photography class teacher was pleasantly suprised when i told her about this software and how it's very similar to "lightroom" by adobe, yea it's great, i've been using it for class and for photo editing

woa cool thanks!! yea flac is awesome but i use ogg and opus for audio files, actually i think opus is the one youtube uses for their vids and stuff

[–] adrianhooves@lemmy.today 4 points 1 month ago (5 children)

i just liike it to be simple yep

i like rhythmbox a lot and it's so great to use it as a music player but most of my music files don't even have any metadata it's just "song-name-author.opus" so it's a lot for me which is why i would use vlc instead yea!!! but anyway ummm why does xfce or gnome use rhythmbox??
