Fully agree. I been encouraging nuclear before global warming was mainstream.
Zippy
Little late now but I suggest we make some changes on our energy policy in the west. We can encourage renewable energy sources while at the same time supporting our conventional energy companies. Failing to do this has resulted in countries like Russia becoming energy giants. And all that money they make at our expense does not encourage world security.
Honestly I don't think that would cause any legal problems.
Are you able to get some income via ads or such? I am new to Lemmy so still figuring it out. Moving from third party Reddit app that had some ads. Add that I were not obtrusive but paid there developer for his time. Feel if you can't monetize your services to some degree, will be difficult for people like you to maintain your servers as they grow so how there is some way to make it worth it.
Thanks for doing this by the way.
Reddit is a single packaged site. As said, Lemmy is distributed. I find it nearly as streamlined as Reddit but the flexibility of picking your servers means some functions are not consistent across all platforms. Can not expect to do things the same way or get the same answers always when asking Lemmy specific questions. That can be confusing to those that are not particularly tech savy in network systems. Which is a large percentage of the population.
Just arrived recently. I like it here. Always felt Reddit was going the way of every other popular site. Think I myself would have trouble giving up the billion dollar payout so can understand it. But I do not have to like it and they are not going to get my few dollars as a subscriber. I don't need the horrible app and new design focused on advertising.
Question. I see the up and down votes randomly on Sopuli. Some show, other don't. I do like the feature as it gauges the support for certain positions. Is there a reason I do not see them?
That will improve his support.
Clicks and money because people actually click on it. To me it was a boring story other than I was interested in why carbon fiber was such a bad choice. I learned something. I find desperate people doing while trying to make it to a better life far more newsworthy than someone dying while doing a voluntary hobby/event. Particularly when that event was risky.
