Why is it idiots can't tell the difference between alternative opinion, and the truth. When I use the term, alternative opinion, I do mean lies and fake news. They then cry that they are being censored by the world.
Also, what the hell is a dry baby in this context?
So much going on in the world and yet so many rubbish news sources find non-news stories like this.
Just for the record, I pronounce it 'Spanish Risotto' and if I want to sound really Spanish, I will call it 'España Risotto'

A place that is full of older white men that seem to have attitudes and thoughts based in the last century, surely they can't be predatory? Also note that the word ends in 'tory', could that be a clue? /s
That's shocking. The guy, who uses helicopters and planes like mad, doesn't care about the environment. All these Tory PM are manipulated by think-tanks which are either funded by dodgy means, or have are promoting stupid policy, often both.
It's a little while since I was in Poland, but I imagine some things are still the same. The police are heavy-handed. Beat up, throw in cell, ask questions later type of heavy-handed. I saw this on various occasions, to what we would call 'drunk and disorderly'. I wasn't in many touristy areas, so no idea if they are more laid-back for tourists. Saying that, in Oświęcim (The town that has Auschwitz on its outskirts) I saw a group of incredibly drunk Germans (They couldn't stand) thrown in a police van, it took seconds. Loud bang as they were thrown forcibly in the van. Had they done more than just being drunk? I don't know. Was this something to do with the area? Again, I don't know. I wouldn't get too drunk. Beyond that, the people are wonderful. Had a great time. Just don't think the police are the same as here.

Yet another option would be to hold this competition but on an American focused part of the Fediverse, or any place outside the UK. You will end up with a load of stereotypes and possibly some humour. The wonder of this idea is it can also act as some PR for Feddit. Possibly attracting new peeps.
What about Giant Haystacks?
I think we need some humour for the banner. We are known worldwide for our comedy. Be it are sarcasm, and toilet humour. Comedians like Monty Phython, Austin Powers, Mr Bean, Alan Partridge, etc.. Plus, we as a nation don't take ourselves too serious. Being self-deprecating is a common trait.
Otherwise, some twat in a bowler hat, drinking tea, smoking a pipe, with bad teeth would do. We can all pretend that the person in the banner is the mod, and creator of this place. So in years to come, when newbies turn up, we can spin some yarn about the person in the banner being the creator, and how they invented Feddit with nothing but pure stubbornness and apologies.

I feel I need to start going on a posting spree, being new here and this place being new. But my mind is foggy and not quite up to speed yet. The most I would manage is juvenile stuff. Not the intellectual, highbrow, informative reading material that I am sure we all desire.
