MODERATOR OF

Sorta, Got a bunch of the more niche communities I was in made, with only two exceptions. I believe in being the change I want made, but I"m hardly experienced as a moderator so it's a new adjustment. They're also existing communities so some mods usually have issues with that, though I'm always open to give mod status when relevant.

I'm intending to stay, barring poking in and seein if there's any extra niche communities that could fit at home here (there's a good few cat ones), I wiped my accounts and am currently waiting on a data request export. Once I can get that then I'm wiping my accounts and not turning back.

Figure those on Lemmy.world would enjoy this one. I also got this on Lemmy.ml but since that sites currently down, I'm putting a mirror up here for some extra insurance.

There's also a Lemmy.ml instance here, but since that site is currently down, I'm making a mirror on .world as well, plus I feel like the niche subreddits like that could fit in nicely here anyway.

Originally posted on r/snakeswithhats, though the source points to a deleted account, archive links aren't helping here so if anyone knows the original source then lemme know and I'll credit them here.

!voidbunnies@lemmy.world

I also manage this over at Lemmy.ml, but since that's currently down I'm putting this up here for now, at least as a fallback.

I got a wayback page that showed the original sub to see some of the stuff on the sides, that included sub's like turtlecats and purrito. Not sure if I'll have time tomorrow but after that I could see if I can get some of those going if anyone's up for that.

Reddit going to shit was the final piece of the puzzle all along, whoda thought?

Semi related but I got a bunch of communities on the .ml instance, is it worth it to try and get em going in .world as well or is it fine as is for now? .ml's still currently down when I write this so I want to make sure I have the best practices down.

So if anyone wants to discuss Half Life and the games within then go for it here.

Welcome. Just so I have this right, it sounds like you were on the old r/PublicDomain subreddit?

Alternate. lemmy.world/c/stardewhomedesign@lemmy.world

I always enjoyed seeing what people made for decorations in Stardew, so I figure I'd port it over to Lemmy. I also run FarmsOfStardewValley over on the .ml instance, but since that site is currently down I can't really share that for now. Not sure if I should try putting that on @lemmy.world or not, at least as a fallback.

I got a buncha communities setup though I'm still debating on the best way to share em, since obviously don't wanna go all on the self promotion stuff and all, but engagement always helps out.

Just submitted my whitelist application, I'm always up for some old school MC multiplayer :).

I think the hard cutoff for GoldenAgeMinecraft was 1.2.5 but the rest is basically that yeah. SilverAgeMinecraft uses anything prior to the combat update, but this is generally one of those that's always up in the air regarding discussion.

I would 100% be down for this!

So a few channels that spring to mind were UltraJman and Mas n Vic, there's also Tatsudoshi but most people know that one.

The former did a few lets plays like IWBTG, Cave Story, Metroid Fusion, and I recall Mega Man 7 being one as well, but those have been gone for many years and aside from a cut down upload of IWBTG they haven't been found anywhere.

The other was a channel called Mas n Vic, which featured a guy from TheZeldaDungeon https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtldOMW0pKAgMkdq8Z6I2KA

doing small reviews of games like Cybernoid and Wii Sports, that channels been dead and wiped for the better part of a decade. Here's an archive.org link https://web.archive.org/web/20080705173220/http://www.youtube.com/user/MASnVIC

If anyone knows of these lemme know, or even better if one had links archived but I sincerely doubt these'll turn up, especially that second one.

EDIT: User ClementJ642 also has a few videos that are totally gone, like vlogs, wrestling videos, and a few others, I got a couple backed up to Archive.org and a few people sent some stuff, but plenty is still lost.

There's also the user HarvesterofEyes, who originally covered an assortment of strategy RPGs, so Fire Emblem, Shining Force, Tactics Ogre, even some obscure ones like on the Game Gear. He eventually ended up wiping both his channel and his website SRPGAcademy, and aside from a scant upload of four videos, there's basically no traces left. channel was here
