How would you feel about a support group? You might have good luck meeting people going through similar challenges. I googled and found this one

It takes a lot of bravery to take the first step. It seems like they even have a virtual/Zoom meeting if you want to get acquainted before attending in person.

My question is how does this make economic sense.

In Ontario my undergrad degree costs about 6k a year now. It cost 4k a year when I took it.

How can the Province justify doubling the fees? Won’t that make people not want to go there and select somewhere else instead causing a reduction in the student population?

I don’t understand how this isolationism thing will play out long term unless they encourage French-speaking Quebecois to have more babies (and they already do this) or unless they accept a lot more immigration from French speaking countries. Maybe they are doing this? I don’t know happy to be informed.

I don’t understand how Quebec looks at other extremely isolationist cultures where the population is declining and there’s going to be some sort of crisis and goes “oh yeah, that’s what we want.”

She’s such a fucking ghoul.

I don’t believe for a second that a) this won’t be used to invest in oil and gas b) she won’t kick the management of this to her buddies’ private companies so she can benefit personally.

Remember, the conservatives always want to privatize public services and assets to benefit their friends. Reference: GREENBELT.

I’ve been in this industry for 10+ years under both Liberal and Conservative governments - the contracts are not dependent on what government is in power.

In fact, the IBM Phoenix contract - the poster boy for one of the most wasteful IT contracts ever - was awarded in 2011 when Harper was in power.

What is wrong with people? Who taught them to believe that this behaviour is acceptable?

There are lots of politicians I don’t like. I see many out at events in Ottawa. And I… go about my day and leave them alone.

Has anyone else had the experience of peds in the bike lane, oblivious to where they are?

I slow down when I bike through there but some oblivious lady walked more in front of me last night when I rang my bell and I had to swerve dangerously.

What is the issue? Fading paint, more public education? A curb or physical barricade just at this location to deter peds from using the lane?

People seem especially oblivious here and I don’t want anyone to get hurt!

The merch line yesterday was ridiculously long. Weezer was a good show!

If you want to break free of an ecosystem / format you can go to a brand like Boox or Pocketbook. I have a pocketbook and like it, but some people think they are klunky/laggy (I wanted a smaller, water resistant reader).

I moved away from Amazon because I didn’t like the idea that they could delete or change a book I had paid for and I hated the ads for books/store on my e-reader.

If you go this route you will likely need to get Calibre free software to load books on your reader, so it does depend on how technical you are prepared to be. Not a steep learning curve but there are some recommended plugins, especially if you want to move books that you have bought on the Kindle Ecosystem. You can also go deeper and do things like have the software auto-estimate page # and reading difficulty, as well as implement tagging/organization systems, change/optimize covers, etc.

Why should the Competition Bureau allow this?

I agree with building affordable housing, however, I’d like to see controls in the plan to discourage slumlords from taking advantage of the relaxed regulations. I feel as though if this were to happen opportunists would build/renovate properties as cheaply as they possibly could to pass inspection and then extract every dime out of them while not maintaining them.

For this to work we would need to dissuade these opportunists AND have a functioning Landlord and Tenant Board, which we do not have at the moment.

Are you outside of the city? Is there no burn ban in place?

Thank you for saying this. Pierre squawks about anything and it’s hyped up to be a huge scandal. So tired of the cons outrage on everything but offering zero solutions.
