Fedora Kinoite + podman

I would like to ask about 2 things. One is a question/search for vps providers, the other is about your suggestions/experiences in similar cases to mine.

I have a vps serving as a gateway to my homelab, but I also use it as VPN for most of my devices, without splitting (all traffic goes through it). I found nice VPS provider, but after some time it seem it does a little bit too much of traffic filtering which leaves me always wondering if the problem that occur is caused by me or the provider. For example, they filter lower half of the port spectrum for incoming UDP "connections", which makes using HTTP/3 harder. When I started using their vps with wireguard they seemed to block my home ip fully, until I wrote to them about that. They denied any blockage, but shortly after that I had access again from my home, while when testing from different vps with different provider, the vps was accessible all the time. They also block NTP servers on ipv4 (not on ipv6, which made it even more unclear what is the soure of problem). Watching on Youtube is (probably) throttled to exactly 2.5 MB/s, not sure by which side, but for example when I tried downloading a video, the throttling was gone and I have not found time yet to take a closer look what is the difference. I don't want to wonder what else they block, or what is throttled.

What would you suggest, and do you have similar experiences?

In any case I am looking for VPS providers that hopefully have

  • very high or unlimited monthly network traffic
  • physical localization in or close to Poland
  • high bandwidth for the vps, at least 1 Gbps
  • no network traffic filtering, except maybe for things like obvious DDoS etc.., but I don't feel like a target for real DDoS.

Also I wonder about the rules of providers, since most of them (if not all) have regulation that the vps cannot be used as a proxy (including my current one). Do you think I should care about that? And when if so?
