We have tons of problems today due to overextenring backwards compatibility to a point in which it just crates more tech debt than the benefits it brings. Windows and X11 are great examples, at least Windows is still being maintained.

It's true! Sometimes the internet seams really smoll.

I'm a simple person, I see Nix I upvote.

Thanks for the comment, I may copy some stuff. :p

Do not use it. Use only the Tor Browser since it's designed to make all users look the same. (Preferrably inside of a Whonix VM.)

I used dash as my /bin/sh due to it being a lot lighter & faster than bash.

Right now I'm trying out ion as my interactive shell and so far it works great.

Fish is cool tho.

Compared to Chromium.*

Not only LibreWolf but every FF based one.

You can check out this article since it explains it better than me: https://madaidans-insecurities.github.io/firefox-chromium.html

While it's not about the most recent version most if not all of its points are still true.

From the same author as one of the best linux hardening guides: https://madaidans-insecurities.github.io/firefox-chromium.html

Generally speaking is true that our security standars are incredibly low and that's becoming more and more dangerous as time goes. Even moreso in our hyper-digitalized society.

But I fail to understand what does that have to do with the fact that FF is less secure than Chromium. May you develop, please?

The web itself has become a disappointing place to be honest. (Obviusly we stil have cool sites here and there but I mean generally.)

One problem with LibreWolf is that it has very weak security. The exact same goes for FF and other FF based browsers.

The Chromium monopoly sucks tho.

Edit: grammar. :p

Nobody remembers that rights were payed in blood. Literally nobody. Everyone thinks that at some point in history we suddenly obtained them or something.

And the fact that those rights were fought by the left is even more forgoten…

If all that money was used to build public transport…

I love books, I own an ereader (a kindle) and while I would love to support culture I'm not giving Amazon a single cent. Any site recomendations for ebooks? EN or ES.

Thanks.

Hi peoles of the fediverse, I hope you're having a nice day. I wanted to ask a question:

Are there any lemmy instances out there providing a hidden service (.onion) or an eepsite (.i2p)?

I wasn't able to find any and, at least for me, it would be a cool thing to have.

Thanks for your attention.

I don't know if it exists, but in case that it does it will be really cool. Kahoot is used a lot in my country for playing in class.

I knew that it existed for a while and after taking a look at it it seams quite cool. But I want to hear about what do you thing about it.

(If you use one, obviously)

And also why? Some recommendations? Some app that you think that is not as famous as it should be? Etc etc

That's maybe a dumb question, but what's the point of caring about privacy? Why should be taking care of my privacy online and in real world? I have my own opinion, but I want to hear what do you think.
