These types of fridges are fairly common in the US, and usually the freezer is on the left. Some models also have ice dispensers. If you have the space for it and a large family, it's very practical.

I feel you, I'm a knitter as well and the amount of people who have suggested I start selling...they don't understand the real value of hand-made items because they've been used to buying mass-produced crap from the other side of the world.

My cat used to just lie down right next to my face and purr as loudly as possible to wake me up.

I get your frustration. I live in Geneva and people here also seem to be addicted to their cars and precious parking spaces even though it's just not sustainable for the density of the city.

“A gust of 217 kilometres per hour was recorded by our station at La Chaux-de-Fonds aerodrome this Monday morning, under a storm cell which suddenly strengthened when arriving in the region,” MeteoSwiss said on Twitter.

As far as I know, that's a record wind strength for Switzerland.

I'm a flexitarian myself and I wish more people would just do that, just realise that they're eating too much meat for their health anyway and cut it down to 2 or 3 times a week.

Can confirm: almost every new person I tell about my ulcerative colitis asks me whether I've tried X or Y diet, or some naturopathic bs.

Yeah I feel I have to do the same. I also created a community for my niche hobby and I found I have to be a bit more of a poster than I used to be, even if it means that for now the magazine is mostly me and pics of my garden.

Let's say the office worker who is 27 internationally today was born in December 1995. He was 1 at his birth, turned 2 in January 1996 (Korean age). In January 2023 he turned 29 and will turn 30 in January 2024, but internationally he'll turn 28 in December 2023.

I thought r/nottheonion had made the jump to the fediverse

For context, my community is a kbin magazine https://kbin.social/m/vegetablegardening

I posted something similar a couple of days ago and thought it was solved, since someone commented they could see my community on vemmy.net. But I've only been able to find my kbin magazine/community on vemmy and lemmy.one so far. I've tried lemmy.ml, lemmy.world, beehaw.org, feddit.uk, etc. but none of them work.

What gives? Do I have to wait for a user from each instance to search for my community? Am I doing the search terms wrong? I've tried : the actual URL, the name of the community, !VegetableGardening@kbin.social , or even typing instancename/c/vegetablegardening but all it turns up are comments where I or others mention the community, not the community itself, or a "couldnt_find_community 404" error.

Can anybody help?

"Brexit is a failure." Boston, small town of 70'000 inhabitants in northeastern England, has the highest proportion of people who voted out of the EU with 75% of votes for "leave". But Brexit left a bitter taste there and an important part of the population now regrets their choice.

Video source is Swiss French but nothing is dubbed and I thought this might interest some people here.

Yeah, how would she react in a rural part of SK? She was probably staying in Seoul or Busan, of course a small German town would feel quaint in comparison!

I'm the opposite : I eat maggots without any issues but the crickets weird me out.

I, for one, am looking forward to the zombie apocalypse that will result from this.

I created a magazine @VegetableGardening for my hobby and I'm trying to get the word out there. Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to "federate" it to Lemmy. I've tried searching with "all" enabled on lemmy.world and lemmy.ml, but all it does is show me my own comment mentionning the magazine on another federated magazine.
Am I doing something wrong? I used the full url (kbin.social/m/VegetableGardening) but only my comment shows up. The first time I tried was this morning and now I still can't find it on Lemmy.
Any help is appreciated.
