In the days before Wannsee Conference (Nazis setting up death camps) but after the invasion of Poland where most executions occurred by firing squad, there were German tourists who would travel to partake in the firing squads. So the trauma is not universal across the human experience and there's some circumstances that would cause individuals to kill. Lynchings and massacres in the US, are examples of this occurring without a war to give cover to killings.

The private key doesn't need to be memorized, it stays saved on the device that the client software is on, allowing the user to integrate mobile device's biometric reader (fingerprint/face/iris/whatever) to confirm identity, or use security key, there are already different ways to implement it that doesn't require pw memorization.

I've got a long unmemorizable string for Firefox sync, Brave, Proton Mail/Pass, it's still more secure than pw memorized

Couldn't it be like public-private keys such PGP protocols, where the users have the private key and the platforms have the public key? It's seems quite good privacy, some would even say it's "pretty good privacy".

Best driving experience in the world? The Netherlands, because when you shift a significant number of people off the roads into alternative transport the remaining drivers have less traffic and higher average speeds than an over-reliance on cars.

Risak is just committing the same mistake Robert Moses made 80 - 50 years ago, building more roads to "solve" traffic but it just induced more car traffic - - and then repeat again and again.

Are gen z likely to be uniformly iPhone users?

That's like the most conformist thing that I have ever heard. The study results are that 21%(F) 25%(M) find having an android phone is a green flag in their partner, while 7%(F) 6%(M) have it as a red flag, so it's not that bad as far android/iPhone is concerned.

@covert_czar I;m reading this from Mastodon, did you see this message?

[–] Sean@liberal.city 2 points 1 year ago

@hoodlem @Blaze I started out on Masthead dot social as my Mastodoninstance & then it imploded without an explanation, now I'm on a really small instance administered by someone I followed when on Masthead. There should be someway to migrate your account even without your original instance being involved, like a PGP public-private key implementation, getting users to normalize floating from instance to instance without a hiccup would alleviate concerns about the glut of users on 4-5 instances

@SlamDrag @TDCN both Chevy and Ford are abandoning the sedan market and focusing on selling trucks to a blue collar aesthetic, not that the global market for cars/trucks is anywhere near a majority of rural that the pickup owners in cities are aspiring to virtue signal. The US became a majority urban nation in the 70s, the world population became majority urban (as opposed to rural) in the 00s. If consumers keep LARPing as small town people in cities, co's are going to keep selling them trucks

@catcarlson an actual elected official would be unpersoned by the media, and that's a known threat that anyone else but Williamson and RFK Jr would happen - if Al Gore (5 years Biden's junior) were to throw his hat into the ring he'd be blamed for everything including the fortune that he's gotten from Occidental Petroleum or from MBS via al Jareeza buying his Current TV, and every skeleton in his closet to ruin his reputation.

The Democratic Party is wholly undemocratic in it's top-down ways

@furrious09 @trashhalo
Marianne Williamson, and to a lesser extent RFK Jr are going to be ignored by outlets with the biggest audiences. If the gestalt of the Democratic Establishment is that there's no primary, the MSM isn't going to do a thing for candidates running against Biden from the left. Williamson polls at 5%-9% and RFK 10%-15% yet MSM will give all the coverage to GOP candidates who are polling under 3% and not Dem challengers.

Trump saying that the election was stolen in 2020 (rehashing a lie from before 2016 election that if doesn't win it is fraud)

Big Lie: Hillary Clinton is assured to win. Next Big Lie: HRC lost only because of Russians, Susan Sarandon, and Bernie Sanders (ignore the 40 rallies he did to GOTV)

Next Big Lie: Only moderate corporatists could beat Trump, Biden winning 5 states by a margin of victory of less than 100k votes must be ignored
