My personal opinion is, not everything needs to be an App. Beehaw is a website. I already have an app on my phone for websites, its called a Web Browser. Better to integrate well into that. We're not doing anything on Beehaw that needs to be app specific, like siphoning up contacts or your location. Just a friendly web site.

We're not equipped to scale that high.

So many small things, combine to make my and my family' daily life easier. As for lesser known, I'd say Tandoor. A web based UI for your recipes. I cook the most for our family, but old school like; add this and this, and enough of this until it tastes good. My wife needs more instruction. So with this, if I cook something she wants to eat again; she tells me. I then write down that recipe on Tandoor so it can be reproduced. I also got started with this software back when it was called just 'recipes'.

Quality software, great usage. Lesser known.

And if you're a CLI nerd, tshark is the same thing. Of course very useful for PCAP analysis of any sort.

Thank you Remington, for beeing you.

Typically In my experience, what you describe is a Power/Wattage issue. Could be a powerdown, sleep issue, or something like either the GPU isn't getting the power it needs when it needs it, or the PSU is just over taxed. Would really want to see DMESG logs and more hardware info (Do you have crashdumps?). Try disabling any powerdown or C-states for the GPU, prevent it from going to sleep.

The beatings will continue, until morale improves.

I'm tired, Alyaza. I keep doing things but keep not getting things done, and I'm just tired of trying. Was/Am really hoping to be more productive this week, and not let the time just get away from me again.

Should be just the tracks from c/music, within the last 7 days. It has to search for the artist and track name on spotify, and should only list it here if there was a match found; which means unfortunately, if it's not on spotify my script won't put it on the list here. But what you're saying is different, in that these tracks aren't on Beehaw in the last week? That isn't the purpose of these threads; I'll have to take a look into why that is currently not doing as I requested.

EDIT: I notice what you are talking about. My apologies, remove those erroneous entries from the playlist.I will work to refine my posting for these threads.

Beehaw isn't the only instance of Lemmy, nor the only instance in the Fediverse. Sure, the feature being added to Lemmy now, won't benefit Beehaw. But it would still benefit others. Refusing to work on the features that Beehaw wants out of spite, will definitely hurt other instances too.

That query by itself in a vacuum is fine. Combined with many other triggers on the DB, and then federating that out before actually deleting from the local DB... well that is what creates all sorts of headaches.

Huffman dismissed the mod protesters with similar language to how he referred to the mobs that came for Ellen Pao (“a toxic minority”). Huffman’s scramble to increase revenue underlines something he’s previously admitted to—that he isn’t really sure how to run Reddit like a business, and he’s adjusting his leadership style to try to get there

Overall, a release more for engineering than language. Even the new API's are mainly optimizations, but a large improvement.

More fun with VIM, it only takes six key strokes to save and quit.

Between 19:45 UTC and 19:50 UTC, there was a mistake in how information was stored temporarily (cached) on Beehaw. This mistake could have allowed some people to see and use other people's accounts without permission.

If you were using the website during that time, please check that your account settings and email address are still correct. Also, make sure that any posts or actions you made during that time are still connected to your account.

It's important to note that we don't have any proof that this error was actually used by anyone to do anything bad during the short time it happened.

I get that LibreOffice isn't really needed on a server or Windows based enterprise; but i take it as this means RHEL is going to remove these packages from official repositories.

Does this mean LibreOffice won't have RH as a supporter and maintainer?

Personally trying to learn more Rust programming, but awesome to see the cadence of their releases. What's been your experience with Rust development?
