Assuming you're in north america, there is no privacy respecting traditional bank. Use cash or monero if you want to hide your transactions

Man I just need to set up a proper SAN, having a bunch of servers without any ability to link storage togetherbetween them gets kind of annoying

Also network seperation...

The Legend of Zelda games, specifically the gamecube era, might be something you'd like. Twighlight princess and windwaker for example...

I haven't been living in Canada for a while so things must have changed a bit since then. The strat is to get an american plan with roaming at that point...

I've been eyeing cryptostorm, uses wireguard, you can portforward, and you can do it all from a command line...

Could be worth looking into private trackers... There are some really big ones that focus on books

Yup, worth noting that the issue isn't just poor (unreliable and slow) service, but also the integration of data caps. Something that is rare in the US (and I'm assuming in europe?). Basically, on many plans ISPs will limit the amount of data users are allowed to send or receive in a given time (usually it's per billing cycle, so per month). TO be clear, this is for your home network, not just your cellular data.

Agreed. I feel like federation is a lot easier to wrap your head around in this style too

Yup, I tend to recommend fedora to my newbie friends because Gnome is simple to switch to and works really well.
