My all time favorite is Blood Waters of Dr. Z. It is unhinged from beginning to end in the best kind of way. The story is bonkers, the special effects and makeup are awful and the acting is worse but it's all so good.

And to all the people new to MST3K you get the obligatory Pod People recommendation.

If 2 things are true, The sky is blue, And Trump loves diddlin kids

It's not a banger yet but it has some potential

Right? I'm not sure if the tech industry is just going all in on the scam and trying to get as much of our money as they can or if we're actually about to have some kind of huge technological breakthrough.

If you enjoyed this article I highly recommend his podcast, Better Offline. Ed Zitron is great and Cool Zone Media does gods work.

Look buddy, I'm from the south and this is a talking point for Confederate sympathizers. This train of thought has no substance to it. The civil war didn't just happen to people, slavery did. People did what they had to do to get out and there's nothing authoritarian about that. You're not being more intelligent than everyone else and you're not the smartest person in the room like this gentleman would like you to believe, you're being gullible.

Again I think you're missing the point. I would argue it is a product and a service. They are hosting us on their servers but they're also playing dungeon master. If you just want a shooter where you shoot bugs they have them but Helldiver's is more than that. You couldn't come close to emulating what the game accomplishes on a self hosted server with you and your friends. The point is you're playing with randos that you have to rely on to do their part so that you don't die and to complete the major orders.

What I'm trying to say is IMO an offline version wouldn't be worth playing. The shared victories and failures can't be simulated and that's the nature of this kind of video game. There's been a lot of similar games so I understand the reluctance to join in but the comradery they've built through PvE is really something.

Helldivers 2 is not shutting down anytime soon and I doubt they'll offer an offline mode in the near future. If you're not playing the major orders and watching the direction of the game in real time you're going to miss out on a lot of the story and the lore. That's how live games work. There isn't a story mode or anything resembling it. Sony got wrapped up in a bunch of controversy and it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth but AH has been trying to do what's right. They sold 12,000,000 copies and on an average Tuesday there's 150,000 players playing at any time. I get the hate for having to be connected to the Internet to play a game but that's kind of the schtick for Helldivers whether you're into or not.

I was 19 when I realized my parents were raised to be authoritarians. My grandparents would've been considered racists even in their time and both my mom and dad were raised in a little farm town. My parents are good people and generally want to do the right thing but explaining this to them and trying to make them aware of their biases has been a full time job.

I will not show the same love and respect to your parents. Go do your jobs so we don't need step 2.

Helldiver's The Movie (lemmings.world)

Hear me out guys. I feel like a movie for Helldiver's has some potential. Arrowhead could build a Helldiver's universe and dive into Managed Democracy or it could just be a series of weird dystopian events involving bugs and automatons. Either way with the right care it could make Starship Troopers look like the original Blade Runner. I'm not an advocate for this kind of thing but if they made it feel like Managed Democracy propaganda I feel like it would be great. Imagine General Brasch on the silver screen.

I imagine it being more academic. It would take an enormous amount of power to create a simulation like this so my guess is, the civilization running the simulation has a much better understanding of the universe and rather than experimenting in their own world they created one. I also like the idea of a future civilization discovering humans after we have gone extinct and having enough information to create a simulation to watch it happen.

Getting your finger stuck in the VCR because the videotape would not eject. You had to stick your finger in and poke the tape while mashing the eject button. Worked everytime. Also pushing rewind on a tape and walking away because someone forgot to rewind and you don't want to watch the video in reverse.
