The majority of other distros value package managers that allow for complex graph evaluation of dependencies, and the ability to roll back. This is granted with rpm and Deb, but not for pkgsource, which is a pretty lightweight format compared to those.

As for AUR, the major distros (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora) support 3p repositories as well. The main concern is security. IIRC one of major complaints for AUR in the past was that it didn't foresee a strongly secure distribution system.

I've got this Huawei P20 lite since 2018 and it's the best phone I've owned. Still rock solid. Unfortunately it's android 9 and OS updates stopped being rolled out in 2022.

If I could I would buy a Huawei again, but it's kind of out of market here. I'm evaluating something from the same manufacturing chain (Honor phones I believe?)

I tried to migrate friends and family to Signal a couple of years back. Only managed with 3 people :/.

Unfortunately here (Italy), WhatsApp is too much widespread as reach out method now. Especially for businesses, from restaurants to, say, the family doctor.

hi! I would be interested in understaning more the setup of the lemmy.ml instance. Do you use a cloud provider, a SaaS platform or a traditional hosting ? What are the costs that are incurred? Cheers!

Same feeling I guess. Created the Lemmy.ml account few days ago and installed Jerboa, this is my first post. Still haven't done any cancelation of my old reddit, waiting for my RelayForReddit to stop working properly... My 99% fruition of reddit is through the 3p app sigh.
