New(ish) to Lemmy, hello!

I've discussed this with my wife before. Basically, neither of us share anything with other people beyond what is obvious (i.e. of course we've had sex). If someone asked me questions, I'd probably be vague depending on the relationship. I'm probably more open to discuss things than my wife would be. I probably won't share specifics unless it's with a doctor. The most I know that she's shared was that she told one person to try giving ears attention when making out. If she does share anything, I'd like to know a bit of context but I wouldn't be mad.

I've not really had people overshare with me.

Mostly ok. Between teetering on flooding the house with a broken water heater, wife being out of town for a few days, and work being short staffed, I feel like I'm mostly handling it well. I'm just so tired. Also stressed about finances with the water heater thing.

This is old news, why is this being posted now?

I'm a custodian at the HQ for a large international organization. It definitely isn't what I'd like to be doing since I've had a 4 year degree for several years, but for now the pay is not terrible and the benefits are incredible. It's definitely the easiest job I've had for the pay I'm getting and it's a great environment. Beats all previous employment I've had the last decade. Other downside is that I have a two hour round trip commute and I start super early. But hey, basically no traffic both directions since it's weird hours.

Ideally, I'd be doing A/V work or some design work since that's what my education is in. With the market not being the best I don't see those positions being open to me for at last a year or two. I'd also like to just transfer into that kind of position within this organization since I do like it.

A past experience: Fast Food.

It was my first job and I was generally well liked by everyone. One night a supervisor really got on me for making a small mistake and people thought I would quit because the supervisor's reaction was so bad. I showed up for another shift and that supervisor apologized after being reamed by our boss. That same night I found them doing heroin in the bathroom. Yeah. Puzzle pieces fit together and they got fired. I got employee of the month.

I'm also super salty over GPM. I'm actually more annoyed they're adding podcasts to YTM. Maybe I like switching between what I'm listening to without clearing my queue?

I'm getting ready to ditch YTM, it's crowded my regular YT.

Hm. I looked around while I was blanking my posts and comments and I feel there's a lot more "activity" in some subreddits, but it feels bot driven. Many of the accounts I looked at were relatively new, like less than a year old. Maybe they were real users, but it certainly didn't feel like it to me.

Anyone else taken a peek?

Didn't they already allow self service in rural areas or was this somewhere else? I feel like I saw videos of people pumping gas in weird ways.

Honestly, seeing that traffic incidents will be a thing is nice. I'm so beyond tired of seeing the cims in my city drive through multiple cars and plow through people without any issues. Also, as a chunk of the YT comments say, high beam simulation? Cool!
