It essentially is a replacement for a mouse, I set FreeCAD to use Blender input settings since I'm used to those. It's one without a screen, just a USB that I use with a kickstand hub on my Deck. I picked it because it was cheaper then a screen style drawing tablet and it would help most with Blender for modeling organic sculpture. It was a simple plug-and-play, although the software to enable some extra features was available for Linux and was a snap to add. I experimented using it with FreeCAD and it's pretty similar to using a mouse, so I don't need both inputs taking up table space.

I use it for 3D modeling using a BT keyboard and a drawing tablet. Works great with Blender and FreeCAD both.

Read Era is technically free, but I paid for premium years ago and have never regretted it. I can open any kind of uncorrupted book file, from the Amazon reader format to PDF to epub, and everything else I've ever come across. It has a great search function, and the ability to file a book into a custom 'Collection'. You can edit the details of a book, like adding Author or pusblisher info, add your own personal notes to a page or highlighted quote, see an aggregate of all your highlights in a particular file, and adjust the font, background color, and contrast to your hearts content.

I make my whole family use it now, cause I love it so much and Premium works on Family share.

Can you imagine that workplace environment though?

"Hey boss, I'm leaving for that 2 weeks paid training on how to catfish a bird my height and get it pregnant with a syringe. "

"Don't forget receipts for accounting."

This is such a wacky world, I love it.

You know I still don't understand the issue people have with this. Every bathroom I've been in either has stalls to use with urinals on the side and dividers between those for some privacy, or is only designed for one person at a time anyway. I can't imagine having any issue with anyone of any gender in those types of bathroom, unless they where being clear creeps and trying to press an eye to a gap in a divide or something. Which isn't solved by limiting the genders who can enter, it's solved by building better dividers and not leaving gaps.

This isn't Rome my dude, we're not all sitting in one room and having a face to face while we clart.

I mean didn't cowboys and samurai overlap on the timeline of history?

Get a few suitcases at Goodwill or something, stick a floppy and some 'redacted' papers in a red envelope, leave them in random places around town and observe what happens. Make sure to wear a trench coat and sunglasses when you 'forget' them at each drop point.

It's disappointing that copyright infringement could cause these people to spend time in prison, but the predatory practices of the companies they where competing with are punished with no more then fines. A "cost of doing business" for the corporate aristocrats. This is the threat the upper class uses on the rest of us, and all too often do not suffer themselves.

Want a 3D printer in New York? Get ready for fingerprinting and a 15 day wait

Assembly Bill A8132 has been assigned a "Same As" bill in the Senate: S8586 [NYSenate.gov] [A8132 - 2023]

I don't own a gun, I never have and I don't plan to at any time in the future. But if these pass in the NYS Senate and Congress, it would be required to submit fingerprints for a background check then wait 15 days, before you could own any "COMPUTER OR COMPUTER-DRIVEN MACHINE OR DEVICE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT FROM A DIGITAL MODEL."

This isn't even going to stop any crimes from happening, for pity sakes regular guns end up in criminal charges all the time, regardless of background check laws. How about some real change and effective measures, rather then virtue-signaling and theater illusion for a constituency?

If this is meant to be elsewhere, please let me know. I once read a story about a soldier who was in a horrific assault, who was then grafted into a large battle mech. As the story goes on, more flesh is taken until eventually only a spinal column and brain are left inside a gel-sack, and the machine has been upgraded to the point that it now has a super-punch that is powered by artillery shells in the shoulder. Some search engines showed alot of similar stories, but I can't find the right one. Anyone know this tale by title?

Right, so at a glance alot of the posts here are for FDM printing, and while I love my Ender 3 and have no problems with it (anymore...) I really want to get into resin printing. I have a 2 year old Elegoo Mars 2 Mono that I've used a handful of times, because each time I try to print a test model instead of something that looks like a chess piece, all I get is a circle of solid resin about the thickness of a US quarter. I'm kinda discouraged by this, since I know plenty of people get into resin printing and love the level of detail they can get on it. Yes, I know I can get similar details with FDM, and sometimes I do, but I want to expand my printing horizons as well. I've tried printing at different ambient temperatures, reslicing the model with different slicers, and warming the resin before use, but I can't seem to get more then a disk from my printer. Does anyone have some advice or insight into this issue?
