Awesome! Thank you so much

Hey there! Just wondering, is there a way to browse instances and communities outside of your home instance in jerboa? The search function is wonky. Not expecting you to have the answer but I'm hoping a user who happens to know might see this and point me in the right direction

Same, I had a lot of hobby communities on reddit that I really enjoyed. I will probably use it when I want that experience while Lemmy grows. Hopefully one day, and with people like us' encouragement to migrate, Lemmy instances will have enough traffic to host these more niche groups.

That's more or less what I was attempting to highlight. It doesn't paint the whole picture, but something as big as life expectancy shouldn't just be dismissed so flippantly in discussions like this.

For transparency, I'm not nearly informed enough to have a valid opinion on the greater topic of this thread. I'm still learning about socialism in all of it's varieties

Life expectancy in the US is currently dropping for the first time in decades. "line go up" isn't always a valid way of determining quality of life, but in the instance of life expectancy, I would say it is. Also, America is getting worse in basically every metric we can use to measure quality of life. Is "line go down" not a valid way of assessing quality of life either?

Like many others, I used reddit as a link aggregator to keep up with news and current events. I'm never going back to reddit so I'm using ino reader as my news app and was hoping to get some suggestions on good sources to keep up on news, politics, etc. Any suggestions on sites I should check out to stay informed?
