I agree with you wholeheartedly. Looks like there's a few users on this instance that you should ban (top comments on this thread). They are clearly the type of people that you are talking about in this post are too stupid to realize it.

No fucking way did you get it looking like old reddit! That's so badass.
I pop by every few days and see what’s new. Not much activity that piques my interest in any of the Lemmy sites. Seeing a lot of what you mention in your post too. Turns me off. I don’t have the energy or fucks left to give to invest in this tech.
