That's why they should be taught. If there is hate for a foul past, that's a good thing.

The same people that pushed the Eugenics movement were probably the same people that got those into the law texts however.

You aren't wrong. I didn't really want to plunge the depths of depravity to really explain or understand it though. The smart fascists and nazis are quite good at manipulating the stupid ones, hence why they work endlessly to misinform and to dismantle education.

They made up TDS because of how reactive they themselves are to the "culture war" nonsense that they're shovel fed every day 25/7. If they can get so worked up about sexy M&Ms and Nascar banning the confederate flag, they have no position to criticize others for pointing out the blatantly terrible stuff their cult leader says and does.

In other words, its effectively the same thing as their insistence that the election was stolen from them. They are so self absorbed and obsessive that they can't imagine its possible without the other side cheating. Considering just about every actual case of voter fraud found was Republicans, it's just more projection.

Gaslight. Obstruct. Project.

Moron, imbecile, and dullard came out of eugenics IIRC. Does "lame" have that origin too?

I've heard it used to refer to injured or weakened legs, as well as the creature they're attached to. As in, "the cow was lame because of its injured hoof." I've heard it used to refer to something that is boring or disappointing. "That movie was lame." or "That was lame."

I wouldn't doubt that there is some negative connotation for it though. Terrible people tend to take innocuous words and twist them to suit their schemes.

[–] ArtZuron 8 points 1 year ago

That's my thinking too. It's too removed from its roots to really have a negative context for most folks.

I do like using Whack yeah

I didn't say all the debt, or even a lot of it. You even gave an example of debt that can follow your family.

Edit: this is also assuming you are in the US. Which isn't the whole world.

I remember seeing an article somewhere about this. Effectively, there really bad diminishing returns with these game graphics. You could triple the detail, but there's only so much that can fit on the screen, or in your eyes.

And at the same time, they're bloating many of these AAA games sizes with all manner of garbage too, while simultaneously cutting the corners of what is actually good about them.

[–] ArtZuron 9 points 1 year ago

I'm partial to "Who'da thunk that was gonna happen?"

[–] ArtZuron 12 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Does the distinction even matter in this context? Neither is good and neither should be permitted.

[–] ArtZuron 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

That's the rub isn't it. You're not supposed to ever get out of debt. As long as you are in debt, someone's earning interest on it. And that debt can even follow your family long after you are gone.

Melina is associated as a so-called "Kindling Maiden," fated to burn the Erdtree and themselves of the sake of a new age, some believe. Melina, disembodied and cast away from her place of birth, sought a Tarnished who would return her to the foot of the Erdtree, Leyndell. She was well-readied to sacrifice herself. Should she be deprived of that final chance to be put to rest, however, she would take upon herself Destined Death to ensure that her Tarnished would one day meet their fate.

Gideon Ofnir was a prideful man, believing himself worthy to be among the heights of the All-Knowing. To that end, he spread his eyes across the Lands Between, to watch the happenings, to locate the Demigods hidden away from plain sight. He had the makings of a lord, but he was just another of the myriad Tarnished, however wisened he may or may not have been. He was no better, nay, worse.

Fanart of Vyke as the Fool tarot card. Vyke was featured prominently in much of Elden Ring's promotional material, and is said to have been the Tarnished that was the closest to claiming the Elden Ring.

However, unable to access the Erdtree due to the unyielding thorns, and unwilling to allow his Maiden to burn as kindling, he disappeared beneath Leyndell to seek the Three Fingers. Whether by his own will or by the coaxing of another, though, is unclear.
