I have been looking at this watch for a while and finally today I found an authorised dealer who was kind enough to show it to me. I really like the dial and the general feeling of the watch, but both the steel and rubber bands feel kind of cheap. Does anyone own this watch? Do you have any opinions to share? I’m deciding whether to buy it or not

Quite nice! My favourite still remains the original dial. It has a very nice texture

Oh good lord, no.

I don't own one but have had a chance to look at and wear one. They're nice. I don't disagree about the strap feeling a little cheap, but it wasn't enough to bother me. Personally, I'd go for their new California Dial version.

That said, I'd never buy an Alpina at full price. These are watches that feel like they were made to be sold for 40% on grey market sites.

Too damn big. Shrink it down to 38mm and I'm all over it

Actually even if I have a small wrist the size feels just right! I was worried too but it’s quite wearable

They’re about 350 on bulovas AD page on eBay. I was looking at them last week

350€? How is it possible?

always found that name to be funny

al-pee-na, al-pee-ner

Why?

Alpina is a common name in the German speaking regions. It refers to the alps mountains.

For the watch brand "Alpinisten" is the most important derision. It refers to climbers and sporters who climb the all mountain in both summer and winter. And they use it often in their marketing.

It's a good looking watch, I'd expect to buy it for 30% off at the citizen store tho. Maybe a bit more for a black friday sale.

[–] Italian_Watch_guy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They have a 25% Black Friday promotion. It’s still 1300€ though

Love it. Under appreciated brand. Great built quality.

pretty cool looking

How big is this? Looks like a 44mm?

I like it, particularly the case. Markers and hands should be a bit larger so they're in proportion with the chunky case

Saw. You saw it.

I think they’re great! I got my brother an alpina a few years ago and it’s still his daily. I think it was only $400 but the light-play on the dail is incredible. If this one has that same level of quality with the Genta style, you can’t go wrong.

The case looks like a cross between an IWC Ingenieur and a Bulgari Octo Finissimo.

Love me a bold, clunky watch and there are a few Alpina designs I want to own. But I do not like that dial texture even though it does match up well with the silicon strap.
