I was redoing some old wiring in a friends house. He wanted to replace his verizon provided router with a unifi one. I called the guy who originally wired it to understand what went where. I explained what I was trying to do and he warned me not to use the verizon router in bridge mode. He said something about the verizon set top boxes not getting updates or something of the sort. At my house, I have a unifi usg as my main router, and I have my old quantum gateway in bridge mode so my TV still works. I have been using it for 3+ years with no issue. Does what he said have any truth behind it? I've never heard of anything like this, and since it wasn't my house (and I can't be there 24/7 to fix stuff), I left it be.
