Inspired by this earlier post, where do you get your news? I refuse to read the Courier Mail, obvious the Brisbane reddit is NBG now, the Brisbane Times is a Fairfax rag and has much more southern content than Queensland, and very little truly Brisbane reporting.

Facebook groups are a mess, either being media owned, run by tow truck operators, or full of self-promotion. I follow Moreton council for council info, but that only gets you so far?

So where do I get the real gen?

Pretty much just ABC for me. I peek at Apple News some times and have added a ‘Brisbane’ channel but it’s sprinkled with ‘You blocked this channel’ markers because I blocked every News Corpse source I could find.

It is getting harder and harder as time goes on. News.com.au is a crime against humanity at this point.

I read the headlines on Brisbane Times. If I’m on desktop I can read the articles via private browser. Otherwise ABC. The Guardian has a QLD section but it’s not usually breaking news.

Yeah it sucks... Channel 9 website but pretty much same as courier mail. https://www.9news.com.au/brisbane

Sometimes regional papers have some good stuff eg. https://www.northqueenslandregister.com.au/

Otherwise abc. https://www.abc.net.au/brisbane

I really want to use ground news for it but tends not to be related to Brisbane... Or just links to courier mail and Brisbane times https://ground.news/interest/brisbane-city

Brisbane Times and ABC for me. The Courier-Mail is utter trash and has been for a long time.
