And I'm out ☝️bowled out by a covid ball. I had a good innings though. Just gonna rest up and try not to cough a shit out.

Had an attempted break-in last night. Bit of a worry.

There goes my sleep for the next while.

Maybe borrow a dog for a while. Hambam? I would imagine being licked to death by a border collie would be enough to discourage even the most ardent feef.

Someone came into the office today with a fairly nasty cough.

They were asked to go work from home about 15 minutes later.

They started protesting 'But I'm already here and it took me an hour to get to work!!'

The absolute fucking brainless audacity of this moron....

[–] Mittens_meow@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago

At least someone told them to go home. Been in a workplace where the boss didn’t care. Everyone kept getting sick from this guy who would refuse to stay home when sick.

The DT hath spoken. I shall request extra pay.

I'll get a day-in-lieu anyway because I'm working cup day. Noice!

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

And then after you get paid you can treat yourself to something nice and save the rest.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

she really deserves it 💗😊🤗

Patted this seemingly friendly boi while visiting a friend (stray/neighbourhood cats are common in this country), he was enthusiastically rubbing himself all over me and enjoyed being picked up by my friend, but once I scritched his cheek he loved it for 2.5 seconds and then flipped a switch and gave my hand a very deep chomp that literally struck a nerve 🥲 went to a GP just to be sure and got some oral and topical antibiotics.

I have been having shit luck with cats here this time which is sad.

So last night's attempted home invasion has brought me to bringing a golf club to bed. I have chosen a 5 iron.

But seriously worrying about this shit was not on my 2023 bingo card.

So I'm now in the process of working out how much paranoia is healthy. Like do you set up a little random timer for a light(s), a camera would be pointless after the fact. The motion sensor out the front works but wasn't a deterrent.

Rationally, statistically it's not common. Seeing it first hand is making me irrational.

[–] baconmash@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago

I had an attempted break in a few years ago during the day. They ran when they saw me appeared at the window. Never returned. If the attempted home invasion was more of a thief nature rather than a robbery nature I’d say you’ll be fine.

So tired. I just want to sleep, but I have work tomorrow and Saturday, 10am start and 8am start respectively.

Penalty rates or a day-in-lieu? Decisions decisions...

[–] bull@aussie.zone 6 points 1 year ago

Early night and get dat monayyyyyyy

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago

stash that money away while you can

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 4 points 1 year ago

If you get through it I’d say get the extra pay.

[–] bananafungus@aussie.zone 7 points 1 year ago

Definitely feeling the new job fatigue today, and having "oh my god this is real" anxiety.

Playing around with the vplates website for a laugh (I can't see me bothering with custom plates) and this is available for someone who wants to express their road rage through their plates:

[–] baconmash@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago

fuck you's transliteration in my language is available

I'm so tired of trying to be positive all the time. There's now actually a genuinely shitty attitude bleeding through because I can't seem to be treated respectfully or catch a break.

It's been a bad day.

Well i feeling down and couldn’t resist therapy shopping and eating wven though it makes me feel awful that I’m spending money when I’m trying to save.

I’ve spent the last of my money on chicken wings and a pack of half price kranskies to drown myself into oblivion over the coming days.

Haha fuck me.. I ordered uber eats IMMEDIATELY FORGOT that I did and went for a nap. The notifications from the app somehow didn't wake me up.

Edit: decided fuck this I'm going to the pub

Went for a night cruise to get better acquainted with the car. I had concerns that the subwoofer wasn't doing much but once I jiggled with some settings and found the right music the bass came to life big time. She rumble. Also, I'm not sure what dark magic controls the headlights but it was able to use auto high beams while behind a car without high beaming the car. Technology is rad. OH and speaking of.. adaptive cruise control in this thing allows going all the way to a full stop which is nuts. I was using adaptive in the USA and when that got below I think 28 miles per hour it just turned cruise control off.

Happy bull is happy with car.

Bloody hell, this COVID fatigue thing is a bit naff isn't it. Got the kids to school, now I just want to sleep for a few hours.

The metro tunnel stations are absolutely unreal. The dusty old city loop is really gonna look so much worse than it even does now.

My neighbour is out trimming their tree on the fenceline. Which is a good thing, but a bit confronting as he is on a ladder and can see directly into my lounge room. I will have to try not to do anything too embarrasing for a while.

I have a slight suspicion Tommy’s sabertooth tiger Halloween costume isn’t entirely convincing

Sometimes I feel old because words don’t have the same meaning they used to. Cute used to mean adorable like a kitten. But now people will call a glamorous dress cute, or a sunset, or almost anything at all that looks vaguely nice. But now what I don’t know, is what is the new word for cute?

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago

We must adapt!

A sunset is not cute I will not adapt to that.
