So, what happened? Biden called?

Biden called and asked why Turkey is so hung up on terrorists in Sweden when Turkey hosted Hamas leader up until now.

Population and media are also distracted by the whole Palestine thing, so it's an ideal time to bury news of a screeching u-turn.

I say, let him have this one.

Not as if the west can complain too much, given the Qatar-Hamas relationship thing we choose to ignore.

It still has to pass in the parliament, so I'm sure there's plenty of shenanigans and domestic posturing left before they actually let us in.

Now all that's missing is that other facist cunt.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Turkey's parliament is set to vote on Sweden's bid to join NATO after President Erdogan submitted a protocol for Stockholm's admission into the military alliance.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has submitted a protocol for Sweden’s admission into NATO to Turkey’s parliament for ratification, his office said on Monday.

Erdogan had delayed ratification of Sweden's membership, accusing Stockholm of being too soft on Kurdish militants and other groups he sees as security threats.

A brief statement from the presidential communications directorate said Erdogan had signed the protocol on Sweden's NATO accession, which will then be submitted to Turkey's Grand National Assembly.

Sweden and its neighbour Finland abandoned decades of military non-alignment after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his country's troops to invade Ukraine in February 2022.

Earlier this month, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged Turkey to quickly ratify Sweden's membership in the military organisation.

Took him long enough.

Turkey's right to vote on things in NATO needs to be removed until they can elect a democratic government. I don't know why we put up with all that posturing it takes ages to achieve anything as a result.
