A gaming sub free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

Medroidvanias are my favorite genre of game. When I first played Axiom Verge 1, I was so hooked on it.

The style of the game, the music, the glitch gun. They were all amazing.

Due to Axiom Verge 2 being exclusive to Epic, I never gave it a shot. Well, I eventually got around to it and I have not enjoyed it nearly as much.

First it seems the variety of guns are gone. Now you have an axe and boomerang? Secondly, the dark and neon colors have been replaced by pastel. I have played the game for a few hours and it hasn't improved enough and I do not plan to play it any longer.

I wonder if the developer knew it was not as good as the first one and that was the reason it became an Epic Exclusive.

I get the impression that he wanted to capture the magic of the first game without making an exact copy and ended up changing too much stuff in the wrong direction.

Did anyone here enjoy this game more than the first one?

I've never played the axiom verge games but enjoyed reading your observations. I saw the pastel colours in a preview once and was surprised. Having said that it suggested to me there might be some kind of twist during the game

I think I made it to the twist, and it there are small parts of the old graphic style but it seems like it is more like a cameo.
