I say "god damn you" to unwork the broken blessing system.

[–] CarlsIII@kbin.social 26 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I like to say “acknowledged!” like Picard

[–] lugal@sopuli.xyz 13 points 1 year ago

"Make it so!"

sneeze once "Bless you."

Sneeze twice "Gesundheit."

Sneeze three times "Ok now you're just fishing for attention."

“I’m sorry, I didn’t quite catch that.” - in a Siri voice “Nah, I’m good, thanks though.” “Dude! You scared the crap outta me!”

"I hate when you do that"

That's my favorite

In Dutch you can say "you sneezed"

[–] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 7 points 1 year ago

So the expected response in Dutch is to just tell someone they sneezed?

[–] tweeks@feddit.nl 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wow, I've never heard anybody say that; is that a regional thing? Just like "Je niest" and that's the response?

[–] jonsnothere 2 points 1 year ago

U niest

-bedankt voor de attentie

(the response is not quite as standard as the first line)

[–] germanatlas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 year ago

"Well done" and "clean that up" are my favourites

Sneezing isn’t normal, I never sneeze

[–] zib@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

I usually go with "None of that"

[–] rbos@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sneezing isn't normal! I never sneeze.

[–] Denvil@lemmy.one 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I sneeze multiple times daily whenever I go outside because of ACHOO Syndrome (yes that is a real name lol)

[–] rbos@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

You poor dear! You should see a doctor. IT IS NOT NORMAL TO SNEEZE!

In Greece we say "Γείτσες", which is a dimunitive for "Υγεία" (=Health), so essentially its like wishing the other person to be healthy.

[–] tweeks@feddit.nl 3 points 1 year ago

We say the same in the Netherlands, and sometimes we also say the equivalent for "cheers", not sure why though.

[–] janet_catcus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

recently, schatzi asked me to stop saying gesundheit or bless you or something each time she sneezes because it triggers her to sneeze again apparently...

[–] Resistentialism@feddit.uk 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Why don't you try to go for a high score? I wonder if they could whip out a 10 streak.

[–] Zacryon@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

My record was about 40 times in a row. I fucking hate spring.

[–] janet_catcus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

well, she doesnt like to sneeze and asked me to stop, so my hands are tied and i try to not be a bother to her during an already hard time for her <3

[–] Resistentialism@feddit.uk 2 points 1 year ago

Ahh, if it's like a proper dislike and she really doesn't want it. Then fair enough. I thought it was more of an annoyance
