I hope the guy who was sleeping rough in the valley has made it over to a fed instance.
From what I saw, there were a few folk on the sub looking out for him and I’d hate to see that link to a supportive community disappear for him.

Don't worry a few of us will still be here suggesting that you drop acid in the botanical gardens, just like the good old days.
I was wondering what sort of helicopter it was…
The answer is always PolAir
Not really. I used to mod /r/brisbane, but basically stopped interacting with reddit around 6 months ago. I've been on the fediverse and threadiverse ever since!
Going to miss the ‘why is there a helicopter over my suburb?’ posts
Be the change you want to see in the world! :)
Yeah I got no clue what I'm doin'
Edit: I just realized this is for Australia, not my place. Ah g'day friends.
Also new here but not to Lemmy. My last instance has taken a dive recently and is painfully slow, so starting fresh on aussie.zone.
The fontpage moves pretty fast though. Just think of it as a jumble of Australia-wide posts.
There's a heap of changes and improvements happening behind the scenes in kbin. I'm keenly looking forward to the new API so everyone can integrate with it easier.
Great community here, love to see it
Same. I like that kbin is trying to build the full integration part, finding a way to have a single interface to browse and interact with both mastodon and lemmy on the same “platform”. I will watch with interest.
At this stage, it seems not quite intuitive enough for me yet, probs because I never used twitter and it still seems strange as a social platform model.
I've just jumped ship from the Brisbane sub too, same reasons. I have no idea how to drive my spaceship in the fediverse, but I'm learning a little every day. I'm really glad there's a BNE community here!
