Hey all. Always enjoyed reading everyone's suggestions on more unknown games available during big steam sales.

I'll start off with one that I have been a fan of for a long time: Death Road to Canada

This game is like a zombie action Oregon Trail like game, where you manage supplies and fight through hordes of zombies on your way to the safe haven of Canada. Only US$3.74 right now and well worth it imo!

I did a video of some games I don't think should be missed. If you've got 10 minutes free check it out.

This is a bit of a weird one, but SanctuaryRPG is currently 83% off ($1.35USD). It's a text based RPG with permadeath, which is not something I would normally enjoy, but something about it has been nostalgic enough for me to spend ~5 hours on over the last couple of days. It harkens back from 2015, but if you missed it, there are a lot worse ways to spend a couple of bucks.

SpiderHeck!

It's sorta like Stick Fight but you're Spiders that can shoot web, shoot guns and swing lightsabers. It's so much fun running through wave survival with a friend. Once you get used to the controls you will find yourself doing some of the craziest shit in it. Clutching waves is super satisfying. I think I've gotten to wave 82 so far.

I'm not sure if some of these are going on sale, but:

Desert Child--Racing game with a cool art style and awesome soundtrack, but tbh I don't think it's worth the price unless it's on sale. Not because it's bad, but it's REALLY short. ~8 hours for $12. IMO that's kinda steep so I recommend waiting for a price drop.

Seasons After Fall--Puzzle-solving sidescrolling platformer with a GORGEOUS art style, adorable animal characters, and sweet story.

Wytchwood--Topdown crafting/exploration game with cool art style and music. Storyline-wise, I've heard it called a little predictable, but I was engaged and didn't see where the plot was going, so take that for what it's worth. It's a cool game either way. And this one is actually on sale atm, so definitely check it out!

Fair warning though, while these are available on Steam, I have only played Desert Child and Seasons After Fall on the PS. So I don't know how fun they are on a Deck/PC. Seasons After Fall should be fine, as it's a sidescroller, but Desert Child might be harder to handle, I dunno.

Edit: if you like puzzle games/room escape games definitely check out The Room series as well

I'm really enjoying The Tenants, no idea if it's a hidden gem or not. It's like House Flipper but also a bit Simsish. You renovate properties, negotiate leases and manage tenants. Good fun!

I don't see this one talked about even though it's relatively new, but I was curious if anybody has tried out Mask of the Rose? I loved Sunless Seas/Skies and was debating. It's $20 so pretty steep and I'm not typically a VN player, though the few I've played (Neocab for one) I really enjoyed.

I just picked up Wasteland 3 after seeing some fun videos about it, dude this game is wild and actually really fun if you like a mix of XCom and Divinity Original Sin

For me it’s Songs of Conquest - spiritual successor of Heroes of Might and Magic 3. It looks great, the gameplay is awesome, they took all of the best parts of HoMM and got rid of the more frustrating ones (for example there is a unit cap for a single slot, so you can’t have 2000 skeletons in a single unit). There are also some cool new mechanics, like every unit gives some kind of essence, which is used as a resource for using spells, so depending on your team composition you get access to different spells. Overall definitely worth checking out for every HoMM fan!
