For me that usually means I'm either choosing a new background or modifying the desktop.

If I'm watching porn. I keep it up. Assert dominance, like the dude in my porn.

I don't even watch porn and still I always get uncomfortable when someone sees my screen. Is it really that difficult to knock, and come in after you have received some kind of response?

[–] MBM@lemmings.world 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Yeah, I (used to?) always switch to my desktop when someone's coming in, regardless of what I was doing. I wonder if people think I'm looking at porn non-stop.

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 year ago

Same. It's to avoid people asking what I am doing and me having to explain.
"Nothing."

I always do this and your comment specifically made me realize how that could look to other people.

At least sometimes they get to see a flash of a Word document when I'm half a second too late

Ctrl+win+arrows Just go to an alternate desktop with "productive stuff", that has a word doc from a long time ago open

Or alt tab to another browser window for kittens or something.

"You looking at pussy on the internet??"
"Yup!"

Honestly, I could be watching the most innocent thing on the internet, I will always Win+D when someone walks into my room

The problem is not anything on my screen, the one with FF usually open is turned away from the door. Me not wearing pants would probably be more sus.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's why you just stop wearing pants

[–] 30p87@feddit.de 10 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Yup. Skirts are much more comfortable anyway. That would look weird in combination with the full beard tho.
Guess it must go then.

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.de 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Skirts and leggings. Pure comfort!

[–] Melody@lemmy.one 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I wear cute and colorful tights but same effect!

Scottish Kilt. Thats the solution!

[–] Melody@lemmy.one 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I would much rather shave, wear makeup, skirts and cute colorful tights and be called a female anyways.

But then again some would call that perspective out as being an outlier. :P

For the menfolk, and those who are male identifying, I do highly recommend kilts...and they do make some pretty neat ones including many pockets if needed.

No matter what I'm doing on my computer, I'll always hide it when someone enters my room
