Did anyone else get the periodic table elements that must add up to 200 atoms? I'm not sure, but I think it was impossible since my captcha included an "Nd".

[–] canpolat@programming.dev 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You can change the captcha using the refresh button next to it. But Nd is not a problem. Its atomic number is 60. You need to add up to 200. Fm: 100, Zr: 40. I knew that memorizing atomic numbers would pay back some day :P

I thought I was so smart spamming the caterpillars into the password. I overfed Paul.

The funniest moment has to have been when I Googled "9 minute 34 second Youtube video" and there was at least one video literally titled "9 MINUTES AND 34 SECONDS TIMER COUNTDOWN [574 seconds - 9:34]" and the video was 9 minutes 49 seconds long. I proceeded to Google different numbers of seconds looking for one that hit the perfect number and literally none of the videos, despite seemingly hundreds of videos of very specific times happened to fall on the 9 minute 34 second mark. Like, what insane world is happening in the great depths of Youtube where people spend hours posting completely arbitrary timers on Youtube, but specifically avoid ones that are 9 minutes, 34 seconds in length. I felt set up. I was rolling in laughter. 10/10 would spend my night Googling Youtube timers and overfeeding an emoji chicken again.

i wish i had read the comments. they never told me I could overfeed paul, and now i feel a little bit bad about killing a chicken emoji

I figured out what random country I got dropped into was, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the best chess move. Made it though up to rule 16 with this:

For the chess rule, you may need an x before and a + after.

Just cheat: https://nextchessmove.com/

This even gives you the notation.

I gave up at "Roman numerals must multiply to 35"

[–] riskable@programming.dev 2 points 1 year ago

I used "VVII" for that one 🤷

This is weirdly fun. Man, I love that website.

Edit: Paul died and I'm trying again. I'm pretty sure there's a checkmate on this board that it won't accept.

My captcha and chess move add up to more than 25 😢

Redraw (f5?) or use other browser.

I wonder what is the last rule there...

[–] jmsw22@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Ever rule after rule 5 made laugh audibly. Great work.

[–] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

spoilerHoly hell, rule 16.

[–] Black616Angel@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Rule 16 if your captcha contains e4 and it's not even a legal move

[–] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 year ago

So, it turns out I didn't actually get en passant. Also, it will ignore illegal moves if the correct one is there.

Ugh -- I'm super stuck, and it keeps telling me I'm using invalid notation even though I'm pretty sure "Qd8" (for example) is valid notation saying that the queen is moving to the unoccupied space d8 🤷🏽‍♀️

Edit: Ah, I had to notate the "check"... But it still wasn't the best move 🤦🏽‍♀️ I ended up using https://www.nextchessmove.com/ cause I suck at chess 🤣

Can't believe that in 2023 we still rely on passwords so much, even more so when there are silly rules for password "strength".

[–] ag_roberston_author 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Got stuck on trying to add up the atomic weights of all atomic symbols in the password to 200. It seems it wasn't even just "200 rounded" it was 200.000 exactly, and when the atomic weight all have three decimals, I could not be bothered calculating that.

EDIT: I have now realised it is atomic numbers, which makes it much easier. I killed Paul though...
