If your home instance updated to newest lemmy version (0.18 I believe) you have to use newest Jerboa version (0.0.35)
Otherwise you have to use Jerboa version 0.0.34
Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.
Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.
Jerboa is made by Lemmy's developers, and is free, open-source software, meaning no advertising, monetizing, or venture capital, ever. Your donations directly support full-time development of the project.

Update to the latest version of Jerboa from GitHub.
Lemmy 0.18 made some changes that force the upgrade.
I thought it might be an update issue, but I didn't check github, only F-Droid. Thanks for the idea.
Try airplane mode until you get to the login screen or try out thunder. https://github.com/hjiangsu/thunder/
Had the same issue yesterday. I needed to update the client
I had the same issue. Updating the app to 0.35 worked for me. If you are on that version already, I don't know.
Same issue here. Try to log in (lemmy.ml of that is important at all) and it crashes the app and comes up with a java error
