i'm sure that person did great stuff and i'm not saying it didnt take them a lot of courage and strength to come out at the time they did but "first openly gay man in world history"? really? in all of documented human history, from all over the world, there has never been an openly gay person before 1870? c'mon

Probably first openly gay man in modern western society

There's not enough contrast in the picture, how do you expect me to read this?

Aww c'mon dude, I tried... 😔

I really couldn't find a way to make it easier to read and really wanted the flag on the background. I'm still amazed that dude recognized trans people and invented a word for the in the 1860s!

Maybe add an image description?

I had to use Google Lens because I can't read this post:

Until my dying day I will look back with pride that I found the courage to come face to face

in battle against the spectre which for time immemorial has been injecting poison into me and into men of my nature. Many have been driven to suicide

because all their happiness in life was tainted. Indeed, I am proud that I found the courage to deal the initial blow to the hydra of public contempt.

I know people have commented before but they don't appear to be offering solutions:

You should use a stroke/outline on the text to make it contrast a bit more with the background. The white is hard to read against the lighter parts of the background without it.

It looks like it may have such an outline, but so thin it makes no difference.
