Enjoy testing, and we look forward to hearing your bug reports via TestFlight and your feedback! You can comment here or come chat with us in The Mlem Space on Matrix.

We'd like to dedicate this release to David, for creating the foundation without which we could have built nothing.

And to Christian Selig, for being the trailblazer and guiding light to every iOS developer, granting every one of us the vision to build great things our users will love and remember forever.

Enjoy!

The Mlem Team

EDIT: ok, there's some confusion with users of the old beta-- DELETE IT! It no longer works, and we had to distribute a new beta. After you delete the old beta, you can sign up for the new TestFlight beta by tapping/clicking the link above! The group is limited in capacity, so get it quickly!

I have the test flight versions of Mlem and Memmy installed. Lately I’ve been opening Memmy more because the UI was better to me.

Until today.

I grabbed the new Teatflight link, downloaded it and opened it up. I had to check to make sure I opened the right app!

Sure there are some performance issues and glitches to get worked out - but Wow! It looks really nice now!

Great job! Looking forward to future updates.

Same here! Wow love the new update!

The compact UI is 🤌🏻

congrats to the team, this is a very smooth iteration so far! The new community tab is clear and concise, love the direction this app is going.

Yay I got it!

[–] sisyphean@programming.dev 6 points 1 year ago

Finally I could get into the beta and all I can say is wow, I’m in love with this app 🤩

Keep up the good work!

Looks great, posting from the new beta! First thing i noticed is the big text you use at the top of this, in the main feed, it is way too big, taking up a lot of space :) Good work guys, looking forward to all the work you guys do.

Also, this post from the main feed is unclickable. https://beehaw.org/post/731374 I can’t view the comments as clicking anywhere takes me to the embedded link. :)

I’ve never been able to login with my self-hosted instance using Mlem but all of the other apps work just fine….I just updated Lemmy to 0.18 and this new beta still gives error messages…. “uses an outdated instance of Lemmy that Mlem doesn’t support” but I’ve been running the current stable versions the entire time. Any ideas?

PM me some test credentials and I can debug this when I get a chance.

[–] BrooklynMan@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

we want all of of terror message data you can send us. create an issue on our repo, and we'll do what we can!

This app is coming along very nicely and really reminds me of Apollo. Excellent job! -Posted from Mlem

we can but stand on the shoulders of giants

[–] _thisdot@infosec.pub 3 points 1 year ago

My god this update is amazing! You fixed Lemmy for me mate!

[–] hanni@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Looks great, guys. Well done!

[–] WaLLy3K@infosec.pub 2 points 1 year ago

I'm glad to see this TestFlight out so soon, it's starting to feel nice and familiar now.

[–] japps13 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Have you changed the system requirements. I am running iOS 15.7.7 which is the latest supported on my device and TestFlight says the app requires an update. Though it is unclear what requires updating.

Perhaps it is just a switch in XCode that was configured differently than before?

@BrooklynMan @mlemapp where do I get an invitation code from?

[–] BrooklynMan@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

that big link at the top of the post, silly!

[–] JamborJan@mastodon.social 1 points 1 year ago

@BrooklynMan I‘m not blind buddy. I simply wasn’t aware that test flight needs invitations. Thought the link is enough.

[–] Scooter411@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I see that the community list may not show remote instances - but mine only seems to show remote instances. All my subscribed communities are only showing ones outside of Lemmy.ml

[–] BrooklynMan@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

lol, no kidding! I don't know what to say!

[–] FollowingOfStalkers 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I still have the app on my phone but I don’t see Mlem listed in TestFlight anymore. Were testers removed?

[–] chase@midwest.social 3 points 1 year ago

The original dev left the project and ended that TestFlight. This is the new one.

[–] BrooklynMan@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Delete the old app and sign up for the NEW beta via the link at the top of the post! After the original app author left, we had to switch to a new account, but all new betas will come from the new account!

[–] FollowingOfStalkers 3 points 1 year ago

Ah I see. The old app wasn’t showing the text body of the post. Fetched the link from browser, thanks!

[–] lucas@programming.dev 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thank you. It looks like a lot of progress has been made.

It’s a real shame that David is no longer part of the project.

[–] BrooklynMan@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

yeah, we will miss him dearly. he was a very sweet guy!

[–] i_r_weldr@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago

Absolutely fantastic app, do you have a donation link?

[–] giddy 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Looking good. Pls add ipad support to your roadmap

[–] BrooklynMan@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

oh, it's on there!

[–] Agathon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I can’t sign in to the lemmynsfw.com instance with this build, but I was able to with the obsolete build.

[–] Agathon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 year ago

It works now.

[–] Tyr3al@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Awesome job. Feels already great!

[–] acow 2 points 1 year ago

Wow, this release is slick! I think the only real issue I run into is link handling, and I understand that is coming. Great job!

[–] Connor717 2 points 1 year ago

Every update this app gets closer to the style and functionality of Apollo, and every update I am more pleased. Keep up the good work!

[–] lackthought@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

what does the setting for ‘vote complex style’ do?

I can’t tell by switching between the options

[–] lackthought@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 1 year ago

oh wait I think I got it now

the vote score number gets included in the colored highlight area with standard

[–] Acelor@feddit.it 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

My TestFlight: Beta not found. A problem occurred with the public address url. Contact the developer

I have Mlem installed for almost 1 month and it works, I have also received some updates. Today clicking on the TestFlight link I got this response is the app is not there.

[–] Acelor@feddit.it 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Ok solved, probably a new beta was released and the old one was removed from Testflight. I installed from the discussion link and the app was found and installed the new version. I think I can delete the old one

[–] BrooklynMan@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

this. we had to migrate to a new App Store Connect account, so the old beta and TestFlight link no longer work. glad you've got everything working!
