I just, can't imagine running out of tv shows????? I have probably 8 or so on my to-be-watched list, and the list only gets longer. I've watched 1 season each of 2 shows (Foundation S1 & Golden Compass S3) this YEAR. Oh and maybe Rings of Power was this year, too.

It happens pretty quickly for me. I usually watch a whole season in one sitting though. I absolutely will not watch a TV show unless it has multiple seasons for this reason.

re-watching it now. Such a remarkably consistent show.

An an animation geek: Steven Universe, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Gravity Falls, Over The Garden Wall, Spectacular Spider-Man, Apple & Onion, Bob's Burgers, and Ugly Americans are all shows I seem to go back to every year or two.

Otherwise, I feel like Arrested Development, Better Off Ted, Mr. Robot, Party Down, Psych, Santa Clarita Diet, Schitt's Creek, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, We Are Lady Parts, and the first season of Twin Peaks are all great re-watches.

My list would get too long if I listed all the movies I think are worth rewatching, but Coraline is a fun one to come back to because they packed more detail into that movie than one person could pick up in over a dozen viewings. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is another awesome one to rewatch because it's just pure fun.

Frasier
Star Trek The Next Generation
MASH
Star Wars The Clone Wars
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Mission Impossible (original series)
Thunderbirds

I typically resort to reading when I run out of good shows to watch.

Seinfeld. Fraser. 30 Rock. The Office.

My wife and I have commented how hard it is to find good sitcoms anymore. I think they peaked in the 90s, as that’s the decade we consistently come back to to find new ones.

If you like those, I recommend Superstore, Brooklyn 99, & Abbott Elementary. Those are the best most recent sitcom shows I can think of.

For me, SpongeBob up until the first movie, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Adventure Time, old Top Gear, King of the Hill, and the king of them all is Futurama.

[–] BruceTwarzen@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

I always go back to peep show.

[–] nicetriangle@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

Seinfeld, Star Trek (TNG, DS9 mostly), Mitchell and Webb shows, British Panel shows, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Monty Python, etc

[–] Bldck 4 points 1 year ago

Arrested Development Bojack Horseman The Good Place Futurama

[–] jules@artemis.camp 4 points 1 year ago

The Office, Parks and Rec & Brooklyn 99 in no particular order

Malcolm in the Middle is one of those shows that is always running with my setup (Plex Server and DizqueTV).

[–] Kittenstix 3 points 1 year ago

Archer is my go-to, Ive probably seen every season a dozen times or more.

[–] jon@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Star Trek: The Next Generation. Watching that is the TV version of getting comfy under a warm blanket.

[–] Roundcat@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Star Trek Next Gen, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager are my go to bidges. Sometimes I just have them on as background because I've seen them so many times.

The Pokemon anime is a reliable watch for me when I'm feeling nostalgic. Also great for practicing my Japanese listening skills on Netflix Japan.

Avatar the Last Airbender and Korra. Love the worlds these shows create, and I always seem to catch new details through each rewatch.

Steven Universe- On my second watch through, and am actually starting to prefer the slice of life episodes more than the first time around. God tier music.

We Bare Bears- Such a cute wholesome show. Definitely a great comfort show.

Monk, House, and Psych- There was a time where I just watched a lot of TBS, and these were my favorite shows from there. Sean and Guss from Psych is probably one of my favorite bromances from television.

Might add more if I think of anything else.

Depends on my mood but probably - Bojack, Mr. Robot, Parks & Rec, Community, Trailer Park Boys or Brooklyn 99.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

Community, king of the hills, better off ted, Angel, Malcolm in the Middle

[–] IWantToFuckSpez@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Girls Gone Wild

[–] 2fat4that@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

True Detective

[–] jnovinger@programming.dev 2 points 1 year ago

My latest is Fresh Off The Boat

King of the Hill. I worked for a bit "remotely" from my wife and I only had that series and few movies to watch (mostly because the internet was straight garbage where I was).

Ended up alright! There's enough KOTH episodes that I could have it on as background noise without it getting old.

Seinfeld and the 2001-2003 episodes of the german „Harald Schmidt Show“. I’m somewhat of an humor reactionary.

[–] LossLeader@lemmy.studio 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Black Books, Red Dwarf, IT Crowd

[–] mPony@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

tha older tha wine is, tha gooder it is

[–] stopthatgirl7@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Hannibal, the TV show. It was truly a masterpiece.

Although recently I’m more likely to pull out a video game and play than watch TV out movies, and my old standby is the Mass Effect trilogy.

[–] wrath-sedan@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Cowboy Bebop.

[–] unce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 year ago

The Sopranos!

[–] NotTheOnlyGamer@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

I have so many shows I need to catch up on that I could never run out of "new-to-me" media. But there's some I could suggest:

  • Perry Mason
  • Mission: Impossible!
  • Star Trek (including all sequel series)
