The game engine I was working on got too complex and I started running into some extremely difficult to solve bugs, at some point I said "fuck this" and stopped programming in C++ entirely. Have been learning Rust recently and am planning to continue with a new engine in that.

Sort of painting yourself into a corner, I've done that before on projects! Glad you find a new approach.
