Not to be morbid, but I found out a friend/former co-worker of mine passed away via Steam. He had been offline for a super long time and one day I saw his account pop up as in game. I decided to say hi, only to find out it was his son. The son told me that my friend has passed about a year prior and he had taken over his father's account.
It was such a shock I had to sit and contemplate it for a while. I still don't quite believe it to this day.
Creepy's shit ever was a friend's wife logged on to his PC about a week after the funeral to play a game.
This always hits hard. I remember when I lost my first online friend.

Thanks. It's just weird. I have tons of old friends on Steam that have been offline for years.... I have no idea what happened to them or what's going on in their lives... But this one guy I know for sure and it just hits hard. Part of me wishes I didn't know.

Is this a real screenshot? I have a friend that has been offline for 12 years, and it is listed in steam as '12 years', not in days.
These type of posts always hit me in the feels. One day he logged off and never made it back.
