I wouldn't invest too much in foreign countries. As soon as the restrictions on resources and global warming hit with full force, the first to pay the price will be immigrants. Your biggest asset will become your passport. Expropriations will become the norm.

So yes, emirates and China can purchase assets all they want around the planet, once people get hungry and thirsty the notion of private property tends to get blurry.

I think another concern is that they bought land next to military bases and installations.

Well said. Climate caused migration is going to be one of if not the biggest international issue of 2nd half of this century. With how equatorial/low tropic counties have been suffering these recent years, migration at a scale countries have never seen may become a reality.

Western/developed nations are not prepared for what’s coming. Economically, politically, and socially.
