Here's why distro hopping can help find the perfect match between the user and the operating system.

In my experience, I found distro hopping to be a massive pain, as each OS I tried either had terrible performance or a major bug that forced me to change it every week or so. That meant wiping the whole HDD and re-downloading all the software I needed.

In 2022, I hopped from Windows 10 on a 2013 Dell laptop to Linux Mint Cinammon, then KDE neon, Manjaro Budgie and finally Zorin OS, which I found to be the most convenient to use. I also installed Bodhi Linux on another partition in case of breakage.

Tbf all of those distros except for manjaro are based on Ubuntu, so you really are more like hopping DEs and defaults more than distros. Also, I always tend to prefer the main distro than the spin-offs, so if you are using all of these smaller Ubtubtu-based distros that are breaking why not try Ubuntu itself? It has a much larger userbase and is tested more with more documentation.
