Have called in sick, now I'm going to take a bath and then eat chips on the couch for breakfast while I watch something bad. Today is a self care day because I sent a big bad email last night at work and it's eating my nerves.
Kiddo just projectile shit all over the change table, and it that’s still less of a mess than what’s going on at the OTHER DT.
Took advantage of the break in the weather to dash out and get my antihistamines.
In other news, the cats have now decided they want cat food, of which I had plenty since I stocked up just before they went off it. At least I can eat the chicken.
I guess winter was coming eventually but it's a very delayed start though.
So the DT is back but now I don't know if can go back out of protest because screw the mods who shut it down so quickly.

Holy crap it's cold out there! Gloves weather, don't make my mistake.
Gewürzhaus advent calendar preordered 💪
Slow day today. Sent email, took a phone call, ran some chores
Zzz
Nuking my reddit history while I still can.
Also what's the temperature inside your house? 15 degrees for me with no heating on.
Naww woolies min delivery increases from 50 to 75 in a couple weeks, in line for their increased grocery prices 😭
While it's open, consider backing up or scrubbing your account as you've got access to your posts, for now.
Just introduced Mr Smeg into the cleanse/tone/moisturise routine.
He was VERY thorough and seemed to enjoy himself.
Work lunch has been packed, water bottle filled, scooter on charge, winter coat hanging up on the back of the scooter…
Alrighty
Watching a "What Happened?" video before work, it's about like what happened for x thing to stuff up royally. It's mostly about video games or consoles (I think he's done like video game movies and such?).
This one is about the GameCube, with a quote from the former Vice President of Marketing at Nintendo who says that the GameCube's colour "didn't feel masculine, I think. I remember us being very nervous at E3 that we were going to get bad press purely based on the color." Like Nintendo Japan liked the purple/indigo colour scheme but Nintendo of America hated it. With the former VP saying that they should do silvers and blacks, but "it wasn't that you couldn't bring out hardware that was a different color. It was just a very... 'female' looking color."
And man... I'm so glad that we as a society are straying from colours being feminine/masculine. I mean it still happens of course, but slowly, the younger generation is weeding that out. Thank goodness. Because purple is my favourite colour.
I tend to like a nice deep red myself, but a rich dark purple is probably second favourite. Really it is less about the colour and more the same tone that I like. The idea that any colours should be reserved for specific genders is absurd. Society really needs to get over this bizarre gender tribalism we have, if society needs to dictate what you can do/be/like those differences obviously are not "natural".
I like how there are in-line pictures on this rather than uploading to imgur or other image hosting server.
There is but we’re also trying to encourage a little description to go with an pics uploaded in order to help any vision impaired people
Fuck it’s cold
It's so silly but whenever I'm watching a nature doco and Australia gets no mention I get a little sad.
have to tell my favourite stakeholders that i'm bailing on them (finish contract at end of next week). i've been procrastinating it all morning, not sure why i'm sure they will be good about it. email currently in draft with 'here's all this work for you oh btw seeya'
Just a quiet day here, a little tidying, one load of washing, I don't have to do cooking because I made pies last night. Will continue to watch telly and do calligraphy.
also, yesterday found a really nice black mother of pearl and purple tourmaline necklace at savers, $5 👍
Mr Woof was causing a ruckus in the kitchen, so I went to investigate. He was trying to get at my sweet potato! I've had to move it to a higher shelf for safety.
Turns out that mashed potato with brown sugar basically just tastes like brown sugar. It's actually pretty good, which makes sense as it's a neutral flavoured carbohydrate with a sweetener.
I tried it last night with a little bit of the mash I was making for dinner - took a small bit out and added caster sugar & molasses (because I don't actually have brown sugar, but that's functionally the same thing). It was a bit over sweet, but I think a better ratio of potato to sugar would improve it.
So for some reason the main person at my job agency said that the period I did the trial run for would be unpaid, and it seems like the ombudsman says unpaid Labor is fine within certain areas. But when I asked my job provider if I was getting paid, for the trial run that I would be and that it's illegal for him not to.
I'm a bit confused, and annoyed that it might be unpaid.
Edit: so okay it looks like I will be paid. It's just up to the boss man and I. Iunno, it's very confusing. Because I'm his first like in-house non contract/freelance person. It's a little different.
