Pretty self explanatory. Post animals, post pets, post stuff about animals and pets!

(It's not mandatory, but we also encourage providing a description of your image(s) for accessibility purposes! See here for a more detailed explanation and advice on how best to do this.)

Howdy, folks! (beehaw.org)

Pączki is a silkback / scaleless bearded dragon. Because of this, he is a "special needs" animal and will require extra care for the rest of his life.

Please do not purchase or support the breeding of scaleless bearded dragons! It makes their lives much more difficult, and most do not make it to adulthood due to their extra needs and often poor health.

Pączki was adopted from a breeder for a tiny fee + shipping. He was produced accidentally and the breeding pair he came from were no longer bred after they found him.

I have extensive experience with bearded dragons, so even though I did not go out looking to adopt a silkback, the opportunity popped up and I accepted my fate.

I love my dumb dumb Pączki so darn much.

What a bloody cute wee guy! Was wondering if the clothes help protect his skin and/or discourage him from trying to scratch his nonexistent scales?

Thank you!

Clothes can get snagged in his environment/enclosure, unfortunately. So for the sake of safety, he is not wearing any when I am not supervising him.

They are so dumb. They will find ways to get into the stupidest situations.

That aside, bearded dragons bask under heatlamps that output between 95°F – 120°F (35°C – 49°C). So, long term, clothes would not be safe at those temps, either!

But, man, that's a great idea in theory.

You are so on top of this, from one herper to another, thanks for being around!

This means a lot! Thank you so much.

I try to be responsible with the info I give.

Owning a silkback is controversial enough. Lol But knowledge is power, and I'm super passionate about beardies of all kinds. If my info can lead to keeping bearded dragons safe & healthy, that's what I care about!

Again, thank you!

He looks as sweet as his namesake!

He is! He's adorable when he's running into walls and snuggling into me when it's close to his bedtime. Absolutely melts my heart.

Thank you!
