Hello to all! Given how unintuitive the search function in Lemmy can be, I wanted to let everyone in the !nfl@lemmy.ml community know about another instance that was created to focus solely on sports. This instance was initially created to discuss baseball but I have added a community for every NFL team as well just to try and get some more participation. I have also added some communities for college football as well.

Please feel free to crosspost any NFL news onto the !nfl@fanaticus.social community and if we can manage to get some participation there I will crosspost things over here as well. Hopefully both of our communities can continue to grow NFL discussion and bring more Reddit refugees to Lemmy.

Thank you! I wasn't a fan of having the NFL teams scattered across different instances, hopefully it congregates there well

Thanks for creating this! Looks like a great place.

Are you already federated with beehaw or other instances? I wasn't able to add anything there as a subscription, but not sure if that's just the normal server latency issues.

@headie_sage@fanaticus.social We are federated with beehaw, right? Based on my understanding if I am subscribed to !news@beehaw.org then we should be federated.

I think that might be how it works. At the very least, if you're able to comment/vote from a @fanaticus.social on !news.beehaw.org then you're definitely federated

Yup, we should be federated with everyone.

Ah, I was trying to add it from the "community" search instead of the "post search." Which feels really backwards for subscribing to something.

We have open federation, so no one is on our block or allow list. Unless they've blocked us specifically, fanaticus is open to all!
