Hi! I have a 2 cores/2 GB VPS with very light use, right now.

I wonder if these hardware specs would be enough to run a little Lemmy instance (for few users). Would 20 GB of storage be too little for this?

from what i'm hearing on my home server the aussie zone, yes 20Gb is too small an amount.

I'm actually running my instance on a VPS with very similar specs. 1 Core and 2GB memory, with 50GB storage.

Granted its just me on the instance. But it looks to be running pretty well. So you should be fine.

yes, for a small instance that is sufficient.
