Why shut it down? This isn't Reddit... if someone else wants to mod it instead, they should. A major draw of a decentralized platform is that it gives users options.

Having an "official" community misses the point of decentralization entirely...

Would someone be able to claim the community name after that? If not wouldn’t it better to leave it open with this post so future visitors would know? (Sorry not sure how to fediverse works but just a suggestion)
