How can we encourage the subreddit to give Lemmy a chance? (self.twobestfriendsplay)

This place obviously has big potential and I don't think it needs to fully replace the subreddit, they can coexist. However all mentions of Lemmy on there get heavily downvoted and misinformation about Lemmy (it's run by tankies) gets upvoted. It feels like everyone is being convinced that this is a nonfunctional extremist site which is unusable. How can we convince at least a handful of additional people to give it a shot and get traffic up a bit?
