Just picked up a wee baby Philodendron Paraiso Verde (Google image attached) and painted lady. I love my philodendrons. What about you? :)

Currently, I have about 160 houseplants, 140 of which are in my bedroom. I have lots of hoyas (circa 40), mounted staghorns, some philodendrons, calatheas and an assortment of other plants :)

another hoya collector here. ๐Ÿซถ I wouldn't mind to create a hoya community here to see again pictures of flowers and cool big plants

Swell idea. but perhaps wait until the plant community is a bit bigger? Otherwise it will likely be just the two of us in that group :)

Yep, figured as much. For the moment I posted a pic of my flowering hoya bella ๐Ÿ˜

My callistophylla has a new peduncle that's going to bloom. I'll post pictures when the flowers have opened!

Currently babying the crap out of a small pile of carnivorous plants, watching over a random array of succulents, pothos, and other household favorites. I also am the "caretaker" of the wife's small pile of plants, which are more cactus and spices.

I'm terrified of getting into orchids, and heavier into begonias because of how hard I got into carnivores. I have one of each that are doing well.

I've also got a maranta and calathea that are doing pretty well (today), and a begonia that is now on speaking terms with me after I didn't make its days any easier. We're learning together. I'm learning how to take care of her, and she's learning that I'm an idiot.

I figure plants are like friends, you won't win everyone over but the ones that stick will thrive! :)

I found out today there's a dedicated carnivorous plants community on kbin.social.

[โ€“] SallyTAB@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Thanks for the heads up! Kbin was still wonky when I tried to get on it earlier, so I've been letting it be until the reddit exodus.

Iโ€™m amassing a small army of haworthias and recently fallen in love with pothos

Bit of this, bit of that. Mostly Hoya but I have some carnies for gnat control.

I have a Monstera Deliciosa. I know it's pretty common, but I got it as a baby with two mini leaves and in less than a year its become a gorgeous giant.

And although low maintenance I love my Sansevierias โ™ฅ๏ธ. Unfortunately the cat does too.

They get so big, so fast! I have a few in my bedroom and it's starting to look like a rainforest with their big leaves. No ragrets.

I'm on the lookout for a variegated peace lilly. I've struggled so far to find a decent one that isn't going to cost a limb or organ here in the UK

I'd love a few more pothos I have one in my study that's snaking itself down a set of shelves

Love the paraiso verde! I also collect philodendrons (they're the only thing that survives!). My favorite philodendron that I've picked up recently is the philodendron "Narrow". It has just THRIVED indoors for whatever reason! I just recently had to repot it because it was getting root bound!

Share some pics of your philo! :)

[โ€“] fossilesque@mander.xyz 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Once she's a bit bigger. She's not much to look at yet. :)

Hah nothing with small plants. I tend to divide/propogate my plants once they get large anyways. It's lots of fun to give them away.

This is the way to be. :) My Verde was a culture start so it's only a few baby leaves.
