Not entirely sure why the photo uploader rotated my pic. But, it is mildly infuriating, so it's fine.

usually when this happens it's because the pic was actually sideways, but had metadata telling your computer to rotate it when viewing.

ideally the upload tool should detect this and rotate the image for you before storing it.
